No, it's not a mistake; it's a 5 amp circuit. To use this one, you'll need a high-amp relay.
I've turned on the switch but haven't turned it on yet. It doesn't appear to be "waterproof" from what I can tell. "It doesn't have a rating for water resistance." I forgot to check whether the toggle has a rubber boot because I dropped it off at the marina service department. This is not the case with the LED. br>br>I intended to use it in a cruiser/sport fisherman with a hardtop and cabin. It appears to be designed for installation on an instrument panel that is protected from splashing, rain, and other elements. If you have a center console or an open bow, this is the place to put it. I believe it would be dangerous to ride in a rider boat. I believe it will short out if you dunk it. Without a circuit breaker and a solenoid, I believe the switch's 5 amp rating is inadequate for most windlass applications. You can use a circuit breaker and not overload it, according to my sources. br>br>I just bought a Lewmar Pro 700 windlass to replace the one on my boat project, which has its own guarded switch (and breaker) that is a rocker rather than a toggle. The switch is larger than the Five Oceans, but it is not illuminated. The circuit breaker is rated at 50 amps. However, at three times the cost of the Five Oceans switch, it does not appear to be waterproof. Because it was designed specifically for the Lewmar windlass, I chose to install the Lewmar switch. However, I kept the Five Oceans switch with the small pilot light because it's cute and my service guys might be able to replace it later. I hope this has been of assistance.
Yes, if you release the switch for safety reasons, it will return to the OFF position.

It works well, has a nice aluminum backplate, and appears to be well-made with a simple momentary toggle.
My winch is now operational after it was installed on my boat.
The packaging bent a paper thin panel, but it was simple to straighten. In the panel, the switch is incredibly loose.
It did the job and was simple to set up.
good.
The switch was not functioning properly. a let down!.
However, there are no guidelines. For the money, this is a fantastic switch. However, there are no instructions.
The switch isn't snug against the face plate.
