It is, in fact, stainless steel.
Mine weren't, but it wasn't a big deal because the new holes were far enough apart to hold securely, and I was able to seal and cover the old ones with the new switch.
No, you'll have to lift the lid because it's a hard cover. You might be able to reposition the label disk without damaging it by loosening the glue with heat or something else.
It has a 3 inch outside diameter.

The switches did exactly what they said they would do. I was a little disappointed that the label disks that moved up and down were not perfectly straight in relation to the hinge, but they are only seen once in a while on the bow. Lifting and realigning was not worth the risk of causing damage.
These may be perfectly reasonable and functional, but they aren't what was advertised. I'm putting in a new windlass (on the cheap) and wanted matte grey foot switches, like the ones pictured, to keep them looking as unobtrusive as possible. intruding as much as possible I didn't put them in and I didn't use them. I gave it two stars because I believe you get what you pay for most of the time, but you should get exactly what you paid for.
This is typical junk from China. It does the job, but the stickers that say up and down bleached from the sun in less than a month don't always seem to register when you push them.
The materials used aren't the best. br>What you pay for is exactly what you get.
Installing it was a breeze. It's possible to get a grip. When they're closed, they just sort of lie down. When I was running, however, they did not appear.
