I need these types of brackets for my no-name dock ladder due to rusted out stainless steel brackets that came with it. Having searched everywhere for months, I eventually found these on Amazon, and figured it was worth the short price to see if they would work. I bought another pair to have on hand for next time. I have no idea what 'sheerness' means in this context, but I had to rate it so I gave them 5 stars. Delivery was early in the promised-time frame, as well. It is also pleasing to see by the window.
After I got my dock ladder, I was able to There was no attachment hardware included, but the device can be attached to the hand. As others have already mentioned, this kit works nicely but the bolts are not quite long enough if you have deck boards built with two inches. The brackets and plates had to be drilled out just a small amount due to the use of one size heavier bolts and long stainless steel bolts and lock nuts. Bolts included, this is just half of what it should be These would have been better suited to universal fit if they had been an inch longer, but the quality and finish seem acceptable.
As it did not match the ladder I purchased (ADL-LAK), it wasn't necessary to buy it 4) 20" steps on a 4'x8' mat. My dock is now as solid as a rock after buying some 5/16 x 3 1/2" stainless bolts, washers, and nuts from my local hardware store. $5, I was able to secure my ladder, but this kit has been added to my spare bolt bin.
It is the same ladder that comes with this set of parts, it is just more convenient to have an alternative mounting location. There is only one con if the dock is built with 2x lumber. The screws will be too short for a dock with 5/4 lumber. It just so happened that I bought a 10-inch length of stainless screws The size of 24 x 2 1/2" worked just fine.
It has an outstanding finish and is a top-of-the-line product. I love the finish and the quality is great. There is a tiny bit of warpage to the attaching plates from welding, which I think should have been dealt with before shipping. When the system is installed, I'm confident that I will be able to fix them. Despite the mounting kit showing up as an item available with this ladder, it does not fit the There is a difference in the center-to-center spacing of the mounting holes. There are a number of misrepresentations in the add. If it hadn't been for the mounting plates, I would have given it a four-star rating.
There is really nothing special about this product besides the fact that I got the ladder second hand and needed this attachment kit, and it works just as I expected. In that tight space it was a bit difficult getting the plate on the bolt and the washers on the washers because the rectangular plate seemed redundant and where the bolt had to go through the deck was right above the pontoon.
Since we needed to install this on our boat dock, the screws were too short for use with the metal plates and bolts since they were going through thick wood. Everything is included and satisfactory except the screws for the metal plate and bolts were too short. We were able to use the hooks for what we had to do.
In terms of quality, the stainless steel appears to be good.
