Questions & Answers

Can I get this in a heavier weight class?

Despite the lack of a weight limit in the product description, my husband weighs 200 pounds. He is holding on to it.

What kind of warranty does this ladder have?

As for the warranty, I do not recall one being provided, but I have used mine for years with no problem. I believe you will be able to see if there are any issues when you first install it, and this would be within the return period. I have not been disappointed with the purchase and my wife thinks I am a hero every time she has to get back in the boat after

The above will work for a 17 inch laptop. Can you tell me about the Bayliner 5?

If this works for you, that is a good option. You might want to check out the pictures that other reviewers have posted for this and similar ladders with three steps to see if you have a place to As I mentioned, I had a 3 step ladder like this that I bought to put on the bow of my boat, but it was too short to reach deep into the water, so this 4 step ladder worked perfectly

I was able to get in the water There's nothing better than a ladder like this! It was nearly impossible for me to climb back into my Fishnski boat when I was 60
4/5

It has been a nuisance for me to climb up that ladder for 25 years. Now I can just walk We were able to leave the handles on the ladder since it fitted perfectly where our old one was. The only reason I gave 4 stars was that you have to take a special trip to purchase the In his opinion, 4 out of 5 is right Steel screws with a diameter of 1 inch, #14 size. Walmart is not the only place where you can get these! As well as the drill, marine caulk may also be needed.

I verified that it did not flex or shake while holding 370 lbs
5/5

My height is 6'8" and my weight is 370 pounds. The boat was attached to the hull using four 5/16 x 1 1/2 inch stainless steel bolts with washers and lock nuts from the local hardware store. I needed the extra step, and mine kinda sticks (in a good way) when I open it, so I don't have to worry about it falling and skimming the water as I drive. The rubber grips are nice too, and I can hold it comfortably when driving. A brief update I was still able to hold my weight and it has been in great shape for almost three years!.

The ladder has a nice bright finish and is solidly built
5/5

This was purchased to use as a transom on my Catalina 22 sailboat. It is a very heavy ladder and it is well made. A stainless ladder looks and feels more expensive due to its bright and shiny appearance. We will have to wait and see how well the finish holds up in the long run. I like how neat and professional welds are. The steps are covered with a plastic covering that is flat on top and has a modest tread pattern embedded in it. A rung this size is easier for your feet than the round ones. Those hurt! The brackets for bolting fast are made of a thick 1/16" stainless steel. As I see it, brackets are well suited for mounting above the top of the screen. The ladder will hang on the brackets in my case. It was difficult to hang the items due to the placement of the holes. Since the holes are too close to the bottom of the bracket, I drilled another hole higher up, where I will mount it. There is not enough support for the top with the provided holes. This product does not include any hardware. It is important you purchase stainless bolts on your own. The number of four must be met. All brackets have already been pre-set There are two 5/16th inch holes drilled in the rod. It appears that the collapse function is a bit complicated to use at first. What will happen if I use salt water? It's impossible to say. Perhaps it will loosen up with time.

If you're mounting to the transom like I am, the provided brackets leave very little "toe room" for a transom with a fairly vertical position. To create just a bit of stand-off from the transom, I'm installing 3/4" Starboard spacers under my brackets. It might be necessary to use thicker material, but I have 3/4 in stock. An inch or even an inch and a quarter would You may require a vertical transom, one that is angled in or one that is angled out. It is easy to clunk and swing a ladder when it is in the hanging position. We may need to put up some sort of bumper or stop. There is also the possibility of taking a little bit of space out of the brackets. Tieing up a stern rail might not look that pretty but you can do it if you have one. In the course of making the bumper, I'll decide what size to make. From the outside, this ladder seems to be a very nice ladder. Your best bet will be to make it work for you as I did. *UPDATE Upon mounting the ladder on my Catalina 22, I found that it tended to swing in towards the transom whenever there was When the boat is on the trailer, this happens. Despite the addition of 3/4" spacers, there is still a reduction in "toe room". For the ladder not to swing in, it will need to be fitted with some form of locking mechanism. As far as I know, it won't act like this with the boat floating.

It took me practically folding myself in half at 52 years old (and not in great shape) to get to my goal
5/5

The original ladder on my Bayliner 175 needed to be upgraded to a three-step ladder. The majority of my time in the water was spent folding myself practically in half, since I am only 52 years old (and not in the best shape). It was really challenging to get out of the water onto my stock ladder. I have been able to resolve my problem by using this ladder. Unlike many other designs, I did not have any trouble installing since the holes matched the stock holes. Installing the new ladder took less than 30 minutes even though it was a little hard to reach into the engine compartment to tighten the bolts. I appreciate the extra step because it makes boarding much easier, and my kids agree. The ladder is also solid since I am a heavy player and I am confident that it will hold up to my weight. Probably the only issue that will bother some is As you can see in the picture, the bayliner ladder fits into a recessed space on the stern of my boat when I want it closed. There is a bit more length to the ladder and it does not fit into the recessed space. The stern deck is, therefore, approximately several inches above this section. Although I think there is no problem with this, as even standing on the stern, you would not normally step on the ladder, whether it is recessed or not, if you wish to replicate a perfectly stock boat, this will not work well.

This product meets its stated objectives, but I would rate it as As stated, it performs well but I'm giving it a 3 out of 5
3/5

Ladders such as this need to be used by strong people. The item might still be returned by me. 1) When you step on a ladder, the ladder will swing away from you as you move. The ladder swings past vertical unless you have something to prevent it from doing so. The sway under the top mount makes climbing out difficult. I am using a pvc pipe under the top mount to limit it. 2) Grab bars are not included in the list. The only issue is that there is a handle at the top of the deck that you need to grab to get onto it. It might be a good idea to install a stainless steel grab bar in the shower. A minimum of $25 is required. If your deck mount is under 16" above the water, at least half of the steps will be above water level. The only difficult part of this is a couple of steps in the water. In order to purchase this style, there are five or six things to consider. 4. I am not a big, strong man (5-foot-10 feet) pounds and 180 pounds) however, A 16" wide or wider sofa is a better bet in hindsight. Thanks a lot!.

So far, my pontoon has been the best purchase I've made
5/5

My pontoon is now equipped with a swim ladder. The smaller kids and lighter teens have no problem getting on and off the boat from the swimming pool. As I weigh a little over 200 pounds, I flex the floor when I climb the stairs, so reinforcement is needed There are not straight stairs on the boat. Instead, they slant outward away from it. Although it doesn't seem to be very flexible if I climb them, the flex of the poles and deck seems to be considerable while storing the ladder. Everything slides smoothly and easily just as it should and I see no signs of damage. All these kids have done is climb in and out of the boat and fold and collapse the ladder at least 400 times, but so far everything works perfectly. It is one of the best ladders I've ever seen. I love the way it looks and how well it works.
