THE FEATURES OF XCEL Dock Piling Caps are that they provide strong protection against rot from internally generated moisture, splintering, and weathering. They withstand weathering up to 10x better than PVC caps since they are made of 100% polyethylene. Polyethylene caps will look as good as new many years after PVC cap is worn out. It helps prevent birds from landing on your dock pilings because of its conical shape. It is easy to work with and very lightweight! For white people, the average life expectancy is nine years, while for black people it's fifteen years!

Questions & Answers
Is it possible for them to bend? There is a warp in one of my dock poles. How is it possible that one way we measure 9 1/2 in and another way we measure 8 in?
Several of the pilings I just installed were not round I installed about 20 (various sizes) and that was the case with all. In order to make the piling caps work, I had to shave a bit off of 2 of them.
If the fit is loose, can it be worn?
If the setting is in salt water, they should be secured with stainless steel screws, but if it is in fresh water, they should be secured with galvanized nails
There is a pipe that has an OD of 8 7/8". Are you able to find a cap in my size?
In my case, nines were used because they were so close together.

They are sturdy, easy to install, and effective at preventing birds from roosting on the posts. Stainless steel #10 screws with rubber bonded washers were used on the 1 3/4" stainless steel screws.

The half inch larger we ordered was based on the reviews of others. They have to be returned and I need to order new ones. The size of this item will be updated as soon as I receive it.
Hailmar ordered it just the way he wanted. This is a perfect fit.

For my cabin, this works well as a temporary cap for the stove jack

The off-road vehicle I am building is off the beaten path Solar panel systems for use on the grid The cabin is powered by electricity and is located It might take me up to a week to get a steel stove jack installed, but I have not installed a stove pipe or spark arrest vent yet, so I have a big hole in the ceiling. I find it to work perfectly well over the stove jack with the XCEL Polyethylene Dock Piling Cap. There is a large hose clamp holding it tight in place. My sense is that until I can get the concrete cap - perhaps the monsoon will soon arrive with strong thunderstorms - then this cap will keep the leaks from happening. An installation of stove pipe and flashings on a woodburning stove.
