We ordered six of these and they were badly scuffed and bent upon arrival. Unfortunately, I had a project deadline and could not return these materials. A couple of hours were wasted scrubbing them with a brightness pad (for minimal improvement in appearance and a day prior to the final polishing For the 2x4, straightening them out will make it easier to attach them. The equipment is heavy and quite sturdy, so they should have been prepped first In order to install, the holes must be pre-drilled Though the straightening did not take too long, I am extremely disappointed with what I saw on my otherwise beautifully.
As I didn't really need six feet of padding, I cut it in half, then into two pieces, each three feet long. I have one suggestion (pun intended), and that is to drill pilot holes for the top ones or two screws you use to attach the padding to the piling while you are doing the vertical installation. I was able to push the screw into the hole with the help of a pilot hole I drilled into the rubber and it stayed there while I inserted my drill/driver bit With zip ties and screws, the screws went in right away. It appears these bumpers are well made and should last a long time. I've docked my boat against these bumpers and they provide some protection, preventing the boat from rubbing against the dock and providing some cushion when docking. This is a product I recommend without a doubt.
37 out of 100. We replaced six BOAT fenders with these two six-foot wide segment dock fenders during restoration of the Hunter Legend sailboat (8 tons displacement). The pilings must be screwed into the heavy duty rebar and they require screw holes to be drilled for affixation. An easy way to install this is with a track that is slightly beveled in the middle. The #14 ad was used x At intervals of 6 inches, stainless steel screws are spaced at 5". The job was done by just one person.
A customer of mine had these bumpers installed for him and we are both thrilled with them. The pre-arranged was the one I chose You'll need to drill holes every 6" in the flange part for ease of installation since there are no holes included. It was necessary for me to re-write I measured the length and used a miter saw to complete the task It should be noted that these bumpers are quite heavy and may be too much for one person to install alone, which ought to tell us something about their quality.
A pontoon boat is what I want to use it for. It's a good guide to use. They're soft enough, but firm enough to provide the right amount of support. The length provides sufficient space for wake changes and different types of boats.
It is very thick and should last for a very long time. Hack saws are an easy way to cut this material. Using stainless screws and washers, the pilings were easy to install after I cut it into 2ft square pieces. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
I needed a protection for the swim platform hitting the dock, so this was absolutely perfect. a lot of cushion on this couch, so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb. We bought it because its color was perfect for matching the dock, as well as its perfect size for our 260 Sundancer. Please do not hesitate to purchase because I know you will enjoy it as much as I do.
With stainless screws, it was easy to install. Despite the weight of our boat being 30k lbs, this bumper handles it well. The thorn in the side is really saved - A rail system. The second one I bought is in the mail.
