This kayak hardware works well for my Kayak. It is made of sturdy steel and has survived a number of trips on the lake with this hardware attached As far as I can tell, you are likely to need to drill the holes a small bit larger so that the bolt can fit in. I couldn't get the bolt on it right out of the package because it was so tight. It is probably the reason why many people have complained about hardware failure. To provide a reference, here's a photo showing it installed with 1/4 rope.

There is no room for bolts in that hole because they are too large

The idea that it will arrive earlier than arranged is cool, but the idea that it will be smaller than expected is not There is no room for bolts in the screw hole due to the size of the bolt.
