Questions & Answers

Do I have to buy a new foil if I want to use my current sport 300 ?

It would not work with your sport 300 hydrofoil as there is not enough room to attach this to it.

This package deal includes both the trolling plate and the fins, is that right?

Depending on your needs, you can buy EasyTroller with or without fins from Amazon. The fins will be included if you order the one with fins.

How well does this work with my 19'6" boat and What is 3MPI? It is necessary to troll between 1. and 2. ?

My easy troller is a valuable addition to my household tools for many years. When I am fishing for halibut, I can troll the boat at a speed of about one to one and a half miles per hour. My four-stroke Honda 201 c/c has a 150-hp Yamaha motor that was purchased in 1998. As well as getting me up to speed more quickly, it may reduce my top end by a couple of miles.

Do the fins on the different models differ in size?

There is no difference in the size of the fins between the models.

We received the product quickly and installed it without a problem. A 22' cuddy cabin with an OMC 4 is what I installed on my boat when I was building it. It has a 3L V6 engine. On lakes Erie, I was fishing for walleye and my boat idled almost 3mph (GPS speed) which was too fast for the fish. Before, I dragged either a bucket or an anchor sock to get the boat to slow down. Ballast drag often pushed the autopilot in the wrong direction, so more attention at the helm was required. Thanks to the EasyTroller trolling plate, your boat slowed to less than one mph, giving you the range of troll speeds you need 5mph). The plate reduces prop efficiency, slowing the boat down. As a result, this design does not interfere with directional control, and autopilot response is much better. My plate was clamped to the outdrive, and I drilled holes through the fin for the screwdriver to go through. Rather than attaching the cord to the boat itself, I attached it to a stainless steel L bracket at the back. I used the old plastic handle from a weed wacker as a handle for the cord, as one is not included. A red sock is placed over the throttle to remind me that the trolling plate is down. When the plate is in the down position, even when the boat is on the trailer, the throttle remains engaged. The first time I used the EasyTroller, I forgot to position the plate in the up position before launching the boat, and then I was confused as to why I didn't have much thrust as I pulled It has taken me no longer than 2 days to get over the mishap with the plate and the sock. Since it eliminates the need for drag to slow the boat, trolling is much easier and faster to set up now that I don't have to deal with adding drag to the boat. The effects of prop wash and cavitation interference are seen on the fish finder near the surface, but gradually fade away below 5 feet.

This is my first review, and I'm excited about it

We received the Easy Troller on 7/10/19 and installed it on 7/13. The reason we purchased this product is that our 50 horsepower Merc Big Foot would only troll down to 3 in high-speed range. The ratio of five to three is following. The 8 MPH speed limits are a bit fast for my trolling style. Having read posts by previous posters who had all the right answers
35 years of experience as a Tool and Die maker I was blown away by the quality of this product. This was a good product. It had a good finish and was well thought out. The installation took around 20 minutes. Drill a few clamps and use two 1/2 inch I was running my boat as if it were idle, and the reading was The maximum speed is seven miles per hour. With a pull of the cable, the plate lowered to the point of one and I encountered my speed drop! My speed was actually 3 miles per hour
but it was a little more difficult than I expected. I was pleased with the handling of the boat. After trolling I pulled cable, gave it a little throttle, the plate returned where it belonged, and off I went full speed. In the end, the price at the time was the same whether it was 50 hp or 300 hp with fins.

The product is well made and easy to install

Good quality product that does what it is supposed to do. Low trolling speed of my 16-foot boat slowed from 3 mph to 1. 5 mph as a result. There are 8 to 1 in this example. It is sailing at 6mph. There is only one issue I have with it it takes quite a bit of power to increase the trolling speed, and it adds a lot of drag to A 4 mph reduction in my max speed was the result. As long as I only need a trolling speed of 2 for my application, I'm going to trim it down a bit. A lot of my speed has dropped to just 5 mph, and I would like to get closer to my For me, this is still a better choice than a kicker motor.

The product is great! The customer service is outstanding

With an I/0 240hp bayliner capri engine, I have a 21' capri that I primarily used as a ski boat and to tow my Fishing is a passion of mine, but the boat could not be used to troll. EasyTroller is the plate I have chosen to try. My fish have now been caught and I have been able to troll for Kokanee and Rainbow trout without any difficulties. The troll is no longer moving as fast as Speed is reduced from 3 mph to 1 mph It will take about 5 minutes. I did, however, put the plate under unfair stress a couple times one day on the lake. quickly turned around several times. I thought I had the plate back in the down position when I fell back down and went to pull it back back up. The bottom half of the plate was As a result, the company responded quickly and professionally and sent me the parts to replace (lower plate and pins) at no charge. I was able to take care of the problem For those days I want to use the boat for skiing/tubing, I just remove the four bolts and the plate - this is also quick and easy. No problem at all! There is no doubt that this trolling plate is top notch and that the company through which it was sold is a great choice!.

I wish you a happy troll
5/5

I bought a trolling plate a couple of years ago that was made of I gave it a try for a short time, then totally forgot about it and put the boat into reverse. After that point, the prop flexed and was pulled into the flex, causing it to snap 132 bucks in the waist. We won't have to worry about that with this. The design of this site was influenced by idiots. I know how to operate this one since I did it again the first time out with this one.
Very sturdy and well built. If you fail to raise this one, you will simply not be able to move fast. I have not encountered any problems at all. The engine on my car is a big five. The machine was running at a speed of about 3 at idle. Two miles per hour. Since Easy Troller was lowered to 1, the Easy Tracker is now at In order to add throttle, 3 actually had to add a throttle input. It is very easy to use and I am very happy with it.

By using the standard plate, I was able to slow down from 2 bags at 2mph down to about 1mph
4/5

When I first heard about trolling plates, I was worried that it would be too difficult to deploy and recover. The helm response to a trolling plate is yet another horror story. There are yet more horror stories about plates being destroyed and props possibly being damaged due to plates being upside To go slow in the first place seems to be related to trolling. If you want to deploy the plate, you need to be in neutral. You will not be able to lock it down unless you thrust forward. In order to unlock the plate, you must also be in neutral (otherwise forward thrust keeps the plate bound and makes it impossible to release it), and simply shifting forward into forward will push the plate up into lock/retrieved/plane mode. It's a 22' StarCraft 3 with 3 motors. In idle, the I/O of the Mercruiser handle similarly, or more so, with 2 bags deployed than without. The site is slow to load, but that's By using the standard plate, I was able to slow down from 2 bags at 2mph down to about 1mph. With the plate, you will go 5 mph. In three dimensional spaces, the boat was pretty responsive There are four feet of seas and fifteen feet of land The wind was blowing at 20 knots. With the way Easy Troller is constructed and hinged I can't see how you could eat it or a prop, unless you're a lubber and in need of a fix.
