Two years ago I got a new Minn Kota Power Drive, and while it worked fine, the foot pedal control tended to be awkward, and small adjustments were difficult. the opportunity to go boating/fishing as much as I would like, and it took me half a day to get used to the foot pedal each time. A screwdriver was required for this wireless controller to be installed it took no more than 15 minutes. Right away, it worked like a charm. A handheld remote makes it much easier to control the direction and speed of the trolling motor. My only regret is that I didn't purchase this 2 years ago. It is much more enjoyable when fishing. Fits nicely in the center console of my 18' boat. The only issue I had was when a few passengers got in the way the motor would not respond. A step to my left fixed the problem. It is not yet possible to comment on the battery life of the remote, but I have used it on just one 4 day fishing trip without any issues. The foot pedal stays in the boat just in case and is not.
During the weekend I installed it on a Powerdrive 50. So far, everything has worked just fine in the driveway, but I haven't tried it on water yet. Taking only about 15 minutes for the installation. There is a new CoPilot accessory for the Powerdrive motors for 2017. On those motors that are older, a different type of plug will be installed.
In this case, the refund was approved. Send it by mail, it'll be delivered by the post office. We are still waiting for a refund one month later. Sometimes products do not work and I can understand that. We should have received the refund, but we didn't. My time would be wasted if I worked with them. A very disappointed person.
It was the wrong one I ordered. It never occurred to me that this only applies to 2017 and up. The year I was born In place of Amazon, I found that there is a copilot version for Powerdrive versions older than 5. You can buy it for a cheaper price. Cabellas ended up being the best place to buy from. Amazon would have to match my price, so I would have to purchase from them! Oh my gosh. I believe I have given you this item (even though it is incorrect), but it is essentially the same as the previous one. As far as I am concerned, I have stopped using the foot pedal.
