There is a 14 liter Yamaha metal tank on my motorcycle. My gauge is 6 but my gauge is not accurate. The top and bottom of the bicycle are 25 inches tall. Your gauge can be reduced by 1 if you would like to. How much room do I need for my tank of 5 inches?

Part of this particular part is made up of It is composed of the plastic fuel pickup tube and the metal slide on which the fuel gauge float moves. To shorten both pieces, you would have to remove the length of material and splice the shortened piece back together (the pickup tube would require fuel resistant glue and the float slide would require welding). Whenever you are considering a big purchase, think, "Is it worth the effort, or would I be better off going to my nearest Yamaha dealer for the part I need?".

I was able to recreate the original perfectly. The new one worked perfectly and no venting issues occurred, so besides the fact that I couldn't read the gas levels, I also replaced the old one because it wasn't venting, and even though I couldn't see how the new one vents, it worked perfectly.

I used to have the perfect fit, but now there are no more

A lot of the things about it were just like I had the same fit as the original. The one difference is that there seems to be no vent anymore. The problem is most likely caused by emissions. So far I haven't tried that out to see if that becomes an issue. Since air cannot be drawn from the tank when the fuel is low, I cannot see any obvious way the fuel tank can continue to function.
