You should be able to use it if it is a plastic fuel tank. The threads on them are all the same. This worked on mine as well. I have an '88. Floating plastic tank on a bass boat.
If the top (the cover has screws to open and close) was left open, I guess it would work. The vapors in my home are kept inside by closing my windows- That keeps the gas fresh, in my opinion. Opening it when taking my boat out is a common occurrence. My boat is secured with it when I close it. In the event that I leave it open, rain water may find its way There may be something you can do about the pressure by opening it a bit. It is not for me because I want to keep whatever substance is in gas in
A pontoon boat on which I boat has a cap like this. The fuel tank on our boat sits down in the transom area and gets wet a lot, but we have never had a problem with water in the fuel. My staff manages a pontoon boat with a fuel tank that constantly draws water into the fuel system due to an automatically vented cap that is constantly opening. There's only one time it doesn't take on water -- when you're heading downriver slowly. It has more to do with the way the boat rides and less to do with A skier, a tuber or a boat with a heavy load may place the filler underwater. In my first boat, I was worried about a vent blocking the exhaust but I haven't had a problem.

(It appears a leak originated from older tanks with original caps. Dura Tanks (5008623's) are a 400 gallon tank. After 2011, there will be a number of new federal agencies, including the EPA, OSHA, ANSI, IRS, FBI and CIA This is the cap that has been approved. Two of the other three are pre-teens There are two of these one with a threaded throat one On the other hand, the throat of another tank is completely Despite the fact that they have worked well on the later tanks, they did not work on tanks with flat surfaces Throat that is on one side. That is odd. I have no idea why. As a result, 50% off the pre-order Tanks manufactured by Dura Tank in 2011. There are some nice caps here.
A couple years ago, I used this cap to replace the gas cap on my Attwood 6 gallon There is a pressure relief cap on the Attwood gas tanks that, according to the EPA (supposedly), lets air in as the gas is used. Whenever I ran that out hunting ducks in Wisconsin at 35°, my motor would stall as vapor lock would constantly occur in the gas tank. As a result, I had to drive around with the gas cap off to prevent my motor from quitting. This cap fits completely, and I bought it to replace the one I had lost. There have never been any problems with vapor locking since I installed the manual vent.
tank can be fitted with this part. There are some tighter restrictions this time around- If you screw it on, the fuel tank will fit, but it will not fit on an old Neptune 6 Gallon Marine Fuel Tank. Though it isn't as big as the OEM cap, and thus makes it a bit more difficult to screw it on and off, I figured it was still better than having to replace the entire tank for the old boat just because the cap isn't venting!.
in order to replace the factory cap that came with a 6 gallon tank so that the pressure could be vented when a full tank was filled, and it works perfectly, so I would definitely buy more from this seller in the future.
I wear a cap from the regular store. My pontoon boat engine sucking a vacuum in the original gas tank is no longer an issue by using an off the shelf fuel This valve prevents the tank from becoming vacuumed when it is open. The rain does not get in when the doors are closed. This is a good.
A great product.
It is of good My sincere thanks.
I found it to be the perfect fit for my 6 gallon boat gas tank. With the help of my friend, I was able to remove the horrible EPA cap from the tank.
