Questions & Answers
In general, your ONLY concerns should be that the main fuel line should not be open to air, and the tank vent should be very high compared It is possible for this to happen in an infinite number of sneaky ways. You will need to disconnect one of the lines from one engine using a high quality valve such as the Moeller fuel valves. You can connect both engines, but you should shut off one line. It is possible for ONE ENGINE to steal fuel from another if there are no external fuel pumps. As long as an electric pump is used to maintain positive pressure in both engines within the limits of the permissible line pressure, it is possible to run both engines from one source. It is usual for kicker pressure to be The pressure is usually very low on outboard motors. Usually the pumps produce too much water at their lowest output of maybe 3 pounds. When fuel is used for pressure regulation, the regulators are pitifully poor. In this case, selecting engines instead of tanks (again, backward from intended intent) would work since it would block off the engine not in use in the event of a switchback. There is no situation where air is permitted to back pressure into the fuel line from an engine pump or whatever else If that happens the fuel will not The only thing to breathe is Despite the fact that most fuel pumps have check valves, it might be the failure of one of the check valves which caused you to choose Do a search for Moeller fuel tank selector valve to see what is available. In your valve, you should be able to choose one of the engines, but not both at the same time. Normally, bad news comes from air entering the fuel line. This is why you should always keep this in mind. When you have a valve that allows air into the fuel line, it's a sneaky way to make sure no one drives your boat more than a few feet if they don't realize what it's That is the type of shut-off valve that I would choose almost immediately over one that is clear There should be more air coming in from that valve than coming out from Similar to the tank vent, the deck vent should also be quite high relative to all possible deck attitudes. Boats that are being trailered up a ramp, or making a steep turning, are no longer considered to have a water line just as they are not entitled to one while walking on the propeller. A high vent must be found in relation to it.
There is a separate float gauge with the boat. It is necessary to install your fuel supply line, air vent hose, and fill and vent hoses. I ordered the hose mounting clamps and install kit. The tank is very sturdy and looks good.
Having an outlet connected to the rear of the boat will cause the fuel fill to face the port side if the boat has been assembled correctly. Rotating the vented connection will allow it to be positioned in any direction.

What is the connection between this and Chinese knockoffs What's going on? You can call this Moeller quality if that is what you mean. There is no way this is real! My intention was to use it on a boat that runs on diesel. It appears that some of the manufacturer's plaque has been chiseled and replaced Having a stamp. What's so strange about this. According to the manufacturer's blueprints, the height of this tank has been increased to 14 inches from 12 inches I received a tank that states it was made on August 1, 2017, but it's actually 12 inches tall. A 14" tank is to be found here. The fish I see on the boat are not coming from mine! Why is this happening.
If you are using this for a diesel engine, you will need to order this. Using the Moeller Marine Stock Tank Sending Unit with Diesel Return Line (12" - 24" Deep Tanks), we have a Moeller Marine Product Number 10 installed. It had four hoses when I adapted it to my 1980 Hunter 27 since I was counting hoses that I was removing from the old tank. There are only three of these in this tank. It's a beginner's mistake and I wanted to share it with others who may also be interested in using Diesel as a fuel.
Thankful to finally have the option to stop lugging portable containers on and off the This tank performed as advertised and there are no real complaints about it.
Only piece of advice is to pay attention to how it will attach to your vehicle. The straps are attached by a "strap" (as seen in my photo) and by a "clamp" or "clip". You can't really tell which one to pick from the listings. It was an unintentional purchase, but I could not use it as planned. It was ultimately necessary for me to fabricate hold down straps of my own. I agree with you that charging 20+ dollars for hold down straps/kits is preposterous.
This tank was easy to install in one of my four Winn's 160 freedoms that had an aluminum tank that was 32 years old. I was amazed at how fast the package arrived. One part I should have given careful consideration was the filler neck since it is vertical and I need to bend it at a 90-degree angle. Do not know if there is a way to route my fuel fill line differently or if I will experience gas laying in the filler neck or if it will slow fill. It does not come with a fuel feed barb, so you will need to purchase one separately. It was important to me to make sure that it was an anti-siphon fitting when I ordered the tank. This cap has a spring and ball inside to prevent fuel from flowing when the engine is not running. When the engine has run out of fuel, some people don't use, or modify, this fitting. They can go bad. They should be replaced when the engine is running low on fuel.
Currently I am using my third Moeller tank. The pickup tubes for two of them have disintegrated like potato chips and the fuel gauge is no longer working. Fuel gauges are wrapped in a plastic tie wrap that is not fuel-proof. It becomes brittle and falls apart after only a short time. Isn't it better to use submersible fuel lines at $20 a foot, rather than cheap plastic tie wraps? During the assembly process, it had pieces of plastic from the manufacturing process inside just before I went to install it. It took me a little while to rig up a piece of tubing to my vacuum to remove their production debris. Alternatively, you could design an aluminium tank custom made to fit your needs. If I can sell this boat before #4, I'd be happy. They have a variety of shapes, so they are two stars.
Dieterich ground off his "diesel" leaving just "gasoline" as a substance. What if there is no fuel return fitting on the tank because no fuel is being returned? I need to use my Maretron ultrasonic level sensor because Moeller has an optional tank level float sensor that includes a diesel return, but this will not work for me. I wish you the best of luck contacting Moeller. It is said to be When I called the customer service number listed on their website, I got a voicemail and the company name I was given wasn't The rest of the tank appears to be well built and strong. With the variety of sizes and shapes offered by Moeller, it is possible to get a boat cover However, they should do a better job with diesel customers.
You are eligible for same-day processing. This is a great value for the money. You are eligible for same-day processing. We received the order by 5pm after ordering at 9am. Replaced a 40 gallon aluminum in a classic Aquasport with this replacement and it's been great so far. Put about 300 gallons through it so far with no problems.
I have a problem with the fittings needed to connect your tank, as the tank itself is well constructed and will work as it should. It would be recommended that you find a tank that is not as high (height) as this one since it will barely fit under the seat of my pontoon yet you will not have any luck finding a fill tube fitting at a hardware, plumbing, To insert your fill tube, you will need a fitting that measures 1 1/8 inches inside diameter and has a 90 degree elbow. There was a problem, however, they did not have a 1 1/8 inch elbow. It is a fairly standard fitting at every plumbing shop since they use a size of 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch, and 1 1/2 inch. There are automotive stores that offer the 1 1/2" flex radiator hose for a dollar an inch. This hose stretches and bends in order to connect to the outside of your radiator. It ended up being a boat drain plug that would expand and then close at a 90 degree angle. My old breather hose/vent worked fine and I attached that readily. Keeping up with the demands of my travel lifestyle, I am not able to pull up to a gas station and fill my tank. Instead, I take the hose over the top, lift my seat, remove my drain plug, There is no elbow included with this tank, which is a pain since I shopped at eight stores and the closest I got to finding one was a plumbing distributor (no success) to a farm and ranch store that had bins of chemical sprayer parts, but not 1 1/4! main reason I purchased this tank was that I upgraded to a 4 stroke fuel injection motor and did not want metal shavings causing problems from my old 20 year metal tank. However, it is made from high-quality materials, but I have compromised by using a rubber boat drain plug to drain the tank. In the event that anyone knows of a 90 degree elbow that would fit this tank, please post your note/comments and I will purchase it on your behalf.
