There were also some issues with the wiring. Alignment bars and lapping bars were not labeled according to whether the bars were one inch or 30 mm. I found it difficult to store the bars, paste, and handle in the cardboard box the kit came in. On two of the six alignment bars, there were imperfections (cuts in the metal) and two others were not perfectly smooth. There are a number of pros to this. I found the directions to be adequate and clear. I corrected the shortcomings after using the kit to ensure it worked as intended. It should have been caught by the quality control team at the factory when the bars were imperfectly trued. Ideally, the manufacturer should provide the buyer with a case so that these items can be securely stored.
If you want to spend a bit more, I recommend purchasing the Wheeler Scope Mounting Kit, which includes both the 1" and 33mm alignment rings and the lapping bars that come with it. You also get a fat torque wrench, level, leveling cube, and a heavy-duty case for an additional $40 for the ring and lapping kit. Before buying, make sure it's a good fit The case I did not have, and the torque wrench and levels I had to add at a later date, was a disappointment.
