The situation is more like this and more like that.
3x12x4 measures 32" x 12"
You will have to disassemble it to make it The AR pistol I have fits just fine with only a pistol tube in back and a 10 round magazine. The barrel holds five gallons.
It seems to have 6 holes around the perimeter of the case that you could use to attach some locking mechanisms to it, so it might meet the requirements for "travel approved".

No, it isn't as majestic as a pelican or seahorse but it will certainly do the job for you. In the center, the outer shell starts to get a little softer, but the foam is very dense and stiff. A nice touch is the Velcro straps located inside. As long as you don't abuse the case, locks seem cheap, but they should last for a long time. I don't think it's a problem for me that it's a little wide in general.
I purchased this case to use for my low end (*$420) pistol caliber carbine.
Prices were competitive, packaging was good and the case arrived within a few days. There are two different parts created by the dividers. One part can fit a few magazines, while the other fits a compact pistol (my Taurus G2C fits very well in one of them). As part of the package, Flambeau included guide cuts in the foam that I used to cut through with sharp scissors to divide the foam between the individual areas. I was very pleased with how the foam fit back in. Furthermore, an earlier version of the game is available. The inclusion of thoughtful information. There is a thin layer of plastic molded into the case, though the case is well constructed, so I was not sure of the long-term durability of the case Reliability over the long run. As a result, the foam is thick enough to prevent weapons from being damaged. There are four latches, which are a bit thin, but they latch firmly. With a weapon that costs more than $800 you may want a more rugged case.
Cheap useless latches ruin an otherwise decent gun case. In order for the latch to function, it is composed of a small diameter plastic rod and a bent piece of plastic that snaps In addition to being an incredibly cheap latch, it does not function well either. As a result of average stress, the plastic stretches and the latch unlocks. They came up with the solution of adding four latches instead of two decent ones, so you get four poorly functioning latches.
As much as I don't write a lot of reviews, sometimes you come across a product that you feel is worth twice the price. This is the first time a case of this price level that I feel has value beyond what I paid for it. There is nothing to complain about the case, it is well constructed and fits together seamlessly. Its foam is thick enough to protect the contents. However, what makes the design even more impressive is the amount of thought and care that was put into it. It didn't feel like this level of craftsmanship when I had paid almost twice as much for another scoped rifle case. You can add the bonus of the product being TSA and airline compliant as well. It wasn't long after my son took off with the screw pack before I saw it, wanting to add it to his legos, that I reached out to the company to find out what size screws to buy, and they offered to ship them in less than a day. As of that point, I had already found them and declined, but it was nice to hear about My first check will be to see what their boxes look like when I finally buy new fishing gear. It's refreshing to see quality products backed by a fantastic customer service department.
Very happy with my purchase and definitely recommend! Thank you, Michael.
This is a dwarf case because of its short height and thick walls. Although there are straps that can be used on different locations internally, the gun shifts around as it moves in the case. I'm not sure if it's thick enough for war use. In my case, I solved that issue by adding a thin layer of foam to make the padding more secure, but if you remove the foam from the hinge sections near the sides, you will find that the lips that should seal the case open up allowing air into the The added solution I used to avoid that problem was to use thin Velcro straps over the locking through holes. By doing so, it works, but every time I want to open the case, I have to remove 2 additional velcro straps in addition to my standard case lock. As described above, this would not be a stable case for your firearms, nor a waterproof or ingress proof case for the reason I listed above. To make the case acceptable to me, I had to put a lot of work in. You get what you pay for, I guess.
Because the price was so low, I was apprehensive about buying this case because it was such a good size. The book is what I was looking for. First of all, it comes with the egg carton foam that is better than the Plano tear-free one The foam is off to be fitted. Despite the low quality of the dividers that come with it, they perform well once you figure out how to install them. The snaps on the exterior aren't the strongest, but there are holes so you can attach your own locks or zip-up the bag. It has the greatest downside of being wide. There is some bulk to it. It is not a deal breaker, but it is noticeable. When I bought it, I thought I would upgrade in the future, but now I am not sure if my plans have changed.
