Bike Computer (Pure 1)

Questions & Answers

Is there a handlebar mount included with it?

Yes, I've had my device for eight months, and the mounting and device are both excellent.

Is there a way to see how many revolutions per minute (rpm) the machine is turning? I'd like to try it out on a spinning bike. ?

By doing some math and lying about your tire size, you can get it to output RPM into the Km/Hr display: 60 min/hr, 1000 m/km equals a tire circumference of 16. 7m. Switch to km/hr and ignore the units, reading the display as RPM, and that is the distance covered by one revolution of our imaginary tire. If a large number for the tire size is not accepted, try 1. 67 and multiply the result by ten to get rpm.

Is it possible to use this on a stationary bike indoors?

I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't be done. As long as you can attach it to a rotating wheel, such as a spoke, you're good to go. The number of times the sensor passes by a stationary sensor (the number of wheel rotations) is used to calculate distance.

This is the bike computer to have if you want a simple, easy to use bike computer
5/5

I upgraded (downgraded? ) to the Pure 1 three months ago, and I just purchased another one today for a different bike. I used to use higher-end (and more expensive) Sigma wireless models with four buttons and a million functions, which necessitated frequent consultations with the user's guide to get the most out of. But, since I bought that high-end bike computer, technology has advanced, and these days, if I want complex data about my rides, I use my phone's GPS and an appropriate app. What I still want on my bike is an easy-to-use, easy-to-read speedometer/odometer (similar to what you'd find on a car). I had to look for the Pure 1 - it took a while. It appears that many companies are unable to resist the desire to add features and complexity; however, the search was worthwhile. It's ideal for what I'm looking for, as the Pure 1 only displays three things - time, distance, and speed - There is only one button on this machine. The screen is large and simple to read. The Pure 1 also comes in a wireless version for a few dollars more (and I'm sure it's a great unit if you need or want wireless), but why? You are only provided with aesthetics. One of the wires in the cluster coming off your handlebar is less visible. Wireless comes with a hefty price tag: complication. Wireless technology has improved significantly in recent years, but it is still far from perfect. Why bother if there are occasionally startup delays, pairing issues, and so on? Take reviews that say the Pure 1 would get "one more star" if it had just one more feature, or two more features, or something like that with a grain of salt. Purchase a different bike computer if you require additional features. You're not going to like this. It was intended to be that way. as well as being well-designed to be a simple, easy-to-read, easy-to-use device that displays your speed, distance traveled, and time spent on the road. I recommend it if that's what you're looking for.

Bottom Line: Great Bike Computerbr>br>This is a review of the "Sigma Pure 1 Wired Cycling Computer. " This is something I bought for my road bike to help me keep up with the pace. The device is small, compact, and appears to be precise. The battery is supposed to last up to three years, but if there was a way to turn it off, it would probably last even longer. This bike computer lacks GPS and RMP, as well as the ability to sync with your phone or computer, but if you're looking for a basic bike computer, this is a great option. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- There is no way to disable it. br>br>Pros:
- a good build qualitybr>- a good deal of precisionbr>- simple to set upbr>- a reasonable pricebr>- compact.

A fantastic computer manufacturer
5/5

The only thing I didn't like about the computer was the jumbled mess of instructions it came with, which, with six or seven languages, made it difficult to read. I've installed a lot of these over the years, so it's not difficult for me, but for a first-time installer, the instructions could be extremely frustrating. Sigma does have online instructions that make it easier to understand. br>br>I've had three of these Sigma computers in the last 20 years, including this one, and they've all worked fine. br>br>I've had three of these Sigma computers in the last 20 years, including this one, and they've all worked fine. br>br>I've had three of these Sigma computers in the last 20 years, including this one, and they've all worked fine. The other two had to be replaced because my wife had pulled the wire on one and broken it, and the other had started to go on and off by itself after ten years because the contacts where the computer snaps onto the holder had become worn and would not make a solid connection. br>br>Overall, Sigma makes the best ones; I've tried others and they don't last as long; I've tried Cateye, Planet Bike, and another whose name I can't recall. And I've had a variety of wireless models, all of which worked for about 5 years before dying, but I've had the best luck with VDO wireless, which is now 7 years old and still going strong. Because I haven't used a Sigma wireless, I can't comment on the brand or style. br>br>When using and testing various wired computers in stores, I discovered that the Sigma had a much better feel to the buttons, not like there are real cheesy thin plastic contacts under the buttons, but Sigma feels like really good contacts that are sturdy. br>br>The Sigma Pure 1 that I purchased is a very basic computer that is simple to operate and understand for my wife; it's a one-button operation that tells her how far she's gone, how long it took her, and how fast she's going; she doesn't have to push buttons to scroll to see other information. This is an excellent first computer or one for someone who is only interested in speed, distance, and time. br>br>Installation was simple; no tools were required. The most time-consuming part was wrapping the wire around things to get it to the fork's location, making sure you didn't wrap too much or too little. A word of warning: When wrapping the wire, once you have it where you want it, test the handlebars by moving it slowly to the full left then full right and watching the wire at the computer to make sure it doesn't pull the wire; if the wire gets too tight, STOP and loosen the windings so you have more slack; you should be able to go to the extreme left and right without any tension in the wire at the computer; if the wire gets too tight, STOP and loosen the winding The other tricky part is making sure the pickup sensor is on the fork and the magnet is on the spoke, so don't clamp the magnet on the spoke or cinch down the sensor until you've got the proper placement and a reading when you spin the front wheel, and you've wrapped the wire properly; once you've done that, cinch everything down.

Decepcionado is a word that comes to mind when someone says the word "dece When I received my product, it was in pretty bad shape, which bothered me
3/5

When I tried to put the pila in, it gave me an image error and wouldn't work; additionally, there were marks on the plastic of the pila's support, indicating that it had been sacada and re-placed several times; and the pegamento beneath the support was undamaged, indicating that it had been used; and the pegamento beneath the support was undamaged, indicating I contacted the company, and they advised me to proceed with the refund, but because the product I have in Uruguay is very expensive, the refund was delayed. In my case, it was an unsatisfactory purchase because I had purchased a new product and received one that was used and no longer functional.

Large display that is simple to set up
5/5

The large display makes it simple to read, and the mounting bracket allows you to mount the unit in a variety of positions. I've had it for about 6 weeks and am very pleased with it.

The screen is a good size, and the computer is functional with only the most basic information
4/5

I have a 700c tire on my bike and have the computer set to that size. It says something to the effect of. In comparison to my car's odometer, every 5 miles traveled was 1 mile too long. Perhaps if I measured the actual circumference of the tire and set the computer to that, it would be even more accurate.
