Yes, the triangle cutouts are flush with the printed grid markings on both sides. We encourage our die cutters to be as precise and careful as their tools allow.
Hello, I'm the owner of MapTools, and I'm not aware of any changes to the National Stock Number (NSN). NSN creation and changes, in my limited understanding, must be handled by the purchasing department rather than the vendor. Please contact me and I will gladly assist you in any way I can to resolve the NSN issue. (Including contact information in answers is against Amazon policies.) But you won't have a hard time finding me.
It isn't able to be rolled. To some extent, it is adaptable. Flexing it to a 45° angle will likely cause no damage; bending it to 90° will likely leave a crease that will require you to bend the tool back to flat; and bending it to 180° will almost certainly damage the tool with a permanent crease. In other words, the tools are more adaptable than a credit card.

THE GOOD: It included materials that would be extremely useful to someone learning how to use a protractor for land navigation. I don't want to send it back because it would be a fantastic educational tool. In addition, the protractor's printing is crisp and legible. And the material has the ideal rigidity-to-flexibility ratio. THE BAD: br>br> The triangular cuts in the pictures are not at 90° angles, so they line up with one grid square but not the other, resulting in an East/West deviation in where you plot your point depending on how far up the triangle you plot. Surprisingly, it's most noticeable on the smaller two scales, where it has the greatest impact. Of course, since this is a tool with a moderately low level of precision, you don't want this flaw to add to your potential deviations. It could mean the difference between life and death. In some cases, death is the only option. Anyway, I really want to like it because, aside from the bad cuts, it's well-made.
please see the image They likely used a dull tool to stamp out the triangles. The cutout lines do not align with the margins, and there are plastic burrs on the opposite side, indicating that the cutout process was not smooth. For a precision instrument, this is unacceptably low.
The tool is made of fairly durable plastic and performs as expected. The detailed instructions, which include almost everything you need to know about grid coordinates for the military grid reference system or the universal transverse mercator system, as well as two practice quizzes, are truly outstanding! Furthermore, the seller threw in a waterproof guide to my area's magnetic declination! This company does a fantastic job and goes above and beyond the call of duty. Excellent value for money.

As an active duty service member, I can confidently say that this is the best protractor I've ever used. This protractor is extremely accurate, and unlike other protractors, it does not require shaving the plastic. I didn't have a problem with flexibility, as some of the other reviewers claimed, so I believe that issue has been resolved. The white line where the azimuth degrees are shown rubbed off during transportation in the cargo pocket while running, which was the only issue I had with the protractor. I blame myself in part because I usually move my protractor around the book from point to point, and I'm sure that being completely soaked contributed to the print's demise, but I also believe that the paint or printing's durability could be improved slightly.
I don't write reviews very often. However, I have to say that this product/seller went above and beyond the call of duty. You will receive a protractor as well as some excellent land navigation packets in your package. For the magnetic declination and grid variance, John was able to create a custom add reference sheet for me! This is an excellent product. 5 stars. It's a straightforward item that performs as expected. br>br>It has the two map scales I use the most (1:1000 and 1:5000). 1 and 25,000: The protractor function is flawless, and the plastic is fairly thick but flexible. The markings appear to be laminated between layers of plastic, so we'll see how well they hold up over time and in the field - I don't anticipate any problems, but if they arise, I'll provide an update. br>br>Delivery was a little slow, but it was an international sale, and the package arrived drenched, so I'm guessing the postal service misdelivered or misplaced it - There isn't a single negative implication about Map Tools. br>br>A simple tool that I'll be modifying by adding a melted pinhole dead centre of the protractor with a strong nylon thread knotted into it for more precise angle/bearing measurement, as seen on many British Commonwealth military issue "Romers. " br>br>Excellent item. br>br>.
Excellent craftsmanship. The same as or better than what I received from the US Army. It's great for hiking and I'd recommend it to anyone. However, a word of caution to those who are unfamiliar with map reading. Make sure you're familiar with your scales and how to adjust them. The product was delivered on time and in good condition.
