Outdoor enthusiasts should own this piece of equipment. It has been a long time since I've used Map Tools products. When it comes to accurately navigating on a map, no other tool out there can compete. I love how accurate the scales are, how easy they are to read, and how durable they are. Besides the items listed above, John will also include a number of free items with your order, such as scale calculators, topographic map information, and a handy card printed on waterproof paper that shows declination and other information Each of these is free, and all are of great use. There is nothing more satisfying than buying from a company that has an obvious commitment to customer satisfaction. The use of a map and compass is a crucial skill for outdoor travelers. Whenever you venture into the wilderness, make sure you carry a paper map as well as a compass. Map Tools products enable you to easily access maps from your phone or GPS device. With Map Tools products, it's simple, accurate, and fun, and you might even.
There is no better map tool than this. It couldn't be simpler line up the diagram with a UTM grid and read off the coordinates. I have enjoyed the support we have received Also, you can visit the site. They arrived in the mail a full week ahead of promised delivery, and they included several very nice resources, including my own local magnetic declination map (that I customized using my Zip Code) and very detailed training materials for reading maps and working with UTM coordinates. You can find the maptools here. In addition to support and training information, the website of www. com provides a variety of other resources. downside I see is that every 50 meters there is a fine division (although it is possible to make an accurate estimation to within 10 or 15 meters) and it is somewhat difficult to mark a spot on a map. When making the mark, you have to "eyeball" the position and then move the tool out of the way. Therefore, I just ordered one of the slot tools that have a slot for marking directly on the map and divides the measurements up into 10 meters. Despite the fact that I think this tool is all I need 90% of the time (or more) I could not resist getting the slot tool just in case I br>There is one more point I want to make It appears that the caltopo is to blame. Printing out the com maps at 1 is perfect There is a 24000 scale and these tools fit perfectly with them.
Fantastic Product, Fantastic Customer Service. Land navigation seems to be a world where two guys are ripping it up. MapTools is run by the guys over there. One of these 1 was provided to me by www. com A scale map protractor of 24,000 points. Its construction is solid, to say the least, and the packaging is neat and uniform. You may be surprised at what's coming next. We received a very detailed information package, and we made a tailor-made Rite-in-the-Hill This is the declination angle of the rain cardstock in my region. I appreciate the fact that they did all those things on their own accord, even as an experienced navigator. My gratitude to both of you for keeping your customers in mind. I look forward to supporting your business and giving my support back to you.
com. The MapTools application. The company that owns com is terrific. In addition to my pocket scale, I got a note from John with lots of useful information. The way they conduct business with thoughtfulness and care is impressive to me. Gracias to you all, for your professional efforts.
This is an excellent tool. My wilderness survival co-op class used this in one semester and I found it very useful. It would be a good idea to keep one of these with your map. This is among the gear I keep in my backpack. Due to its light weight, it does not pose a weight issue and can be folded up within my map easily. Keeping a tourniquet or Sam Splint in my medical kit is the same as keeping one on me at all times (say, a tourniquet or a Although you don't expect to need it often, it's nice to be ready for when S*** hits the fan!.
This is a very helpful tool for getting a better sense of scale within a grid. This card is a great tool, but I can't say enough about the level of service provided by this company. It is one of the best retailers I have bought Additionally, they provided complementary supporting materials that were extremely helpful for someone who was just getting started with wilderness navigation.
The grid arrived very quickly, and is made of a thick, yet flexible plastic. The print quality is excellent, and the scale is exactly right. There was an introduction card from MapTools that came with the Grid. I downloaded a few contents from maptools, one of which was an instruction sheet for describing various coordinate systems and one that I printed for my backpack to show the correct declination for my zip code in western North Carolina (where I do most of my hiking, so it is extremely helpful). Purchasing two will save you money and provide you with great service.
A conversion of distances will be needed when using maps of different scales. For the purpose for which it is designed, this works well. The system does all it is supposed to do.
