Yes, it is, and I apologize profusely. Please send me your name and address via Amazon, and I'll send you a new one.
It functions as a compass. The accuracy of the directional indication would be harmed if the dash was sloped or uneven. The compass is primarily intended to be used as a decorative item that can be displayed. The majority of compasses designed to work in the field are made of unbreakable plastic, which is why it comes with a display stand; Our compass, on the other hand, is made of brass and has an artistic glass face that could shatter if dropped.
Hello Nellina,br>br>Yes, it can be carried, but unlike most modern compasses, which have a hard, plastic cover, our compass cover is made of glass, which can break. It functions in the same way as any other compass. Having said that, I recommend that you use it primarily as a display. I hope you find this information useful. br>br>I wish you nothing but the best,br>br>Bruce
All compasses, including ours, point to magnetic north because the direction of magnetic fields varies slightly over time or depending on one's location in a hemisphere. The magnetic declination varies depending on where you are in the United States when using our compass. Our compass, on the other hand, is intended to serve as an inspirational work of art that can be displayed on a desk or shelf. Furthermore, because the face is made of glass, our compass could easily break during a strenuous hike in the woods—despite the fact that it would still function normally. I hope you find this information useful.

br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>Br>B The compass glass is slightly beveled, giving it a very nice appearance, and the back of the compass, where the inscription is located, appears to be bronze. It appears to be in need of polishing, but I believe the goal is to make it appear aged. PS: There isn't a cover on it. It appears to be exactly as shown in the picture. br>Functionality is a term that is used to describe how well something works. When laying flat on a table or in your hand, the compass is accurate (it matches the reading from my iPhone compass app). The magnetic needle is a little shaky at the moment; The compass dial is stuck in place. br>Contents: br>br>br>br>br The compass is well packaged and comes in a larger, more attractive box. The compass (inside a regular cloth pouch) and a metal compass stand are both contained within the box.
but. This compass is confusing me. There isn't a dial that rotates. That's fine, but I'm not sure what to do with it without it. The red tip pointer points to the north when I'm facing True North. The red tip pointer points to the south if I face south. When I face West, the red tip pointer points East, and when I face East, it points West. The north and south poles are perfectly aligned. The directions of East and West appear to have been reversed. It's possible that I'm misinterpreting something. I'd like to be able to use this compass correctly.
This lovely compass is a rare and wonderful gift for people of all ages and for any reason. I'll be buying more to give to my grandson, for an 80th birthday present for a friend, and as a thank you for a kindness. And I intend to order more in the coming years. I'll simply give the compass in its canvas drawstring bag, along with the card that explains what it means. I'm going to throw away the rest of it: The stand, box, and wrappings, in my opinion, detract from the treasure's simple beauty.
When I saw the poor quality of not only the compass and stand, but also the packaging, I was astounded. The box was held together with scotch tape and arrived completely crushed in a bubble mailer. There's no way I'd give this as a gift. It leads me to believe that the positive reviews claiming it to be a nice gift are for a different item. This item appears to be a dollar store trinket, and it comes with a cheap generic stand, similar to the kind used to display a clear Christmas ornament with a photo inside. This was not a $3 piece of art. a lot less than $30 I was expecting a lot more from this movie because I liked the premise.
I recently purchased two more of these compasses to give as a special gift to a couple of dear friends, after purchasing 20 of them and giving one to each of my six children and seven more to my older grandchildren. My mother, like my sister, was overjoyed when I gave her one, and she keeps hers in her car as a constant reminder that God is her true compass. This compass also comes in a stunning box that wowed me the moment I saw it. If you're looking for a great and unique gift, this compass is it! I bought one of the other compasses offered here, and it came in a cheap tiny box with a stiff lid that I couldn't open, and it came in a very thin cheap leather case that was very cheeses, so I returned it right away. This compass with the name GOD emblazoned on it is THE ONE! Trust me.
It serves as a great reminder that God is our "True North"! It came with a pouch and a desk hanger, and it has the vintage look I'm after. I don't think it's practical to carry around, but that wasn't the purpose of my order. It performs in the expected manner. I wasn't planning on using their box to gift it anyway, so the packaging wasn't particularly attractive. This is an excellent present for a variety of occasions! The inscription is written in verse and is simple to decipher. In addition, the description was spot-on. A write-up about God being our true North is included in one of the pictures in the description, which I plan to type up in a script font and print out on card stock to go with it. As a gift, I absolutely adore it!.
When my oldest son began the BSA program, I gave him this as a gift. It's a lovely peace, and since religion is such an important part of our culture, the North pointing to God is a wonderful feature. My son is pleased because it works. I ended up purchasing three additional sets for my other children. br>However, if you have a kitten or a mischievous cat, you might want to keep it off the display! Ours smashed the glass by knocking it to the floor. We're working on resolving the issue.
God is our true north, and this is a lovely reminder of that. This was a gift for my husband, and it's the perfect size to fit on his desk at work. He can use it as a talking point and a reminder.
