Selected User Reviews For Explorer 2.0 Compass, Clear, One Size
Since the 1980s, I've owned a variety of Silva compasses and have been pleased with their performance, usability, and accuracy. That was not the case with my latest Explorer 2 purchase. There are no compass needles on the compass. Instead of pointing north, the compass needle was pointing south. Yes, I did promptly return it. I had read about another reviewer's similar experience, but assumed it was a one-time occurrence. off. But now that I know it happens more frequently than I thought, I can no longer dismiss it as a one-time occurrence. off. Silva appears to be in a good mood. Buyer beware: there are issues with control.
If I had been in a physical store, I would not have purchased this compass because the south pole dragged on the bottom unless it was tilted in the hand. br>If I had been in a physical store, I would not have purchased this one. I can use it as is, but I am dissatisfied with this product. br>I have no complaints about Dipndive, except that the compass was a little off. which was a good thing.
This compass was purchased with the intention of learning how to use it. At first, I planned to buy one for a very low price, but then I realized that I should spend a little more and get something of decent quality. This item was well worth a five-star rating in my opinion. It's easy to read, durable, and comes with a lanyard to keep it from getting lost.
I'm a little out of touch with the times. Google Maps is fantastic, but it doesn't appear to know which way you're going until you've walked a few blocks in the wrong direction. This, old-fashioned The problem is solved by using a compass in school. This was an excellent replacement for my old compass, which had served me well for over 50 years. My wife always makes me laugh, but she is always correct!.
This compass is very attractive to me. It's a simple base plate compass with all of the necessary scales, a ruler, a bezel that's easy to read and turn, and a magnifier. The compass needle is well damped and swings freely. It's also correct- I compared it to several of my own compasses (including two surveyor compasses), and they all read within one degree of each other. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the declination isn't adjustable. The declination scale is located in the capsule's interior. There are simple ways to compensate for delineation, but using a declination that can be adjusted is preferable. Also, the scale is a little too small for my old eyes, but any serious user can overcome this.
Excellent craftsmanship. After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to go with this one. It isn't a lesatic compass, but that isn't required all of the time. Magnifying glass with the largest magnification and an easy-to-read ruler.
Good. You can get poked in the corners if you aren't careful. The size is adequate but not excessive.
On its first outing, a bubble has formed and the rubber trim is peeling away. I figured that if I spent a little more money on a compass, I'd be able to avoid these types of tyoes. My recommendation is to keep looking.
