The compass is functional, and the text is well-centered. My only complaint was that one corner of the top facing lid had a scuff mark in the wood. Although it adds a rustic touch to the box and compass, it does not detract from them. It was a pleasure to work with you, and you did a great job!.

My husband isn't a watch guy, and I didn't want to get him a whiskey tumbler set, so when I came across this compass in my search, I knew it was the one: it's well-made, the pouch it comes with is well-made, and I like the cliche notion that he'll always be able to find his way home with it. Bonus points for it being (delicately) engraved with the same quote as a picture frame I gave him as a wedding present. Icing on the cake was the fact that he got teary-eyed when I handed it to him.
