This is a wonderful present. Because it was refurbished, we were able to get it for a lower price than most. It works, the needle locks, the case is nice, and I love the engraving. Definitely not a toy and not worth the high price.
It's a very nice and sentimental compass that I bought as a Christmas present for my nephew in the Coast Guard.
My grandson is immediately drawn to the compass, which has a Bible verse on it. does not collect dust on a shelf like other commemorative gifts that are given to commemorate a special occasion but are never used again br>I will tell my friends about it!.

Although it has the appearance, it is not suitable for use in the woods. It's nice as a gift, though, as I did.

Except for the tarnished metal, it was exactly as pictured. I'm not sure if that's the look they're going for, but it's not my style. A unique present.
