Hello, I believe this set has a capacity of 150 pounds. I have a 12 on my report card. Peddle kayak with a length of 5 feet and a weight of around 90 pounds. I use the same j rack system that weighs 95 pounds with the peddle drive in it.

When the package arrived, it appeared that it had been delivered by Ace Ventura. I'm pretty sure the only thing holding the box together was a roll of tape. When I grabbed the knob to loosen and open the rack, I was met with a sharp stabbing pain in the palm of my hand; turns out one of the knobs was broken and I didn't notice it in time. After talking with the wife about whether I should return the product for a new one, I decided to keep it because once I install them, I won't be taking them off and will be looking for a replacement knob in the meantime.
This shelf has been pre-assembled. There's not much to do with it once it's assembled other than screw it onto your car bars. The ratchet straps that come with the rack are excellent, though it took me a while to figure out which way they should be wrapped around my kayak for the most convenient use. With the rack and straps, I felt very secure in my kayak, and the straps did not loosen during a 1 1/2-hour drive. The rack can also be folded down flatter for better overhead clearance.
The product was damaged when it arrived. The plastic strapping guides were broken, and this appears to be a long-term issue. I like the design, but I didn't order a replacement because I was worried about the plastic parts breaking.
I bought these and used them to travel 90 miles on the expressway with my kayak, and they worked perfectly. They are extremely simple to set up and fold away. If you're like me and can't decide which ones to get, these are the ones to get.
This was purchased to transport a kayak for local lake and river trips. The unit arrived fully assembled and ready to be attached to the crossbars. Despite the lack of instructions (apparently none were required), it went together quickly. My only qualm is why did they include an eight-pack of lock nuts.
This product did not come with any instructions, so where can we find them? We don't know what the smaller bolts are for, either. We've only been using it for a few hours and have already had to stop and readjust. It will be beneficial to follow instructions.
