Questions & Answers
This bat will not be returned! I'd double-check with Easton, but the bat usually needs to be brand new.
BBCOR is usually not used until late in high school. If any high school or college student is swinging this bat, they are instructing a child by demonstrating with the child's bat.
This is a 2 3/4" barrel, if memory serves me correctly. It is entirely up to the hitter, but in my experience with younger hitters, a lighter barrel helps them get around on the pitch faster, especially as pitchers throw faster. My son switched from this bat to a Marruci drop 10 and said the drop 10 felt lighter, despite the fact that it weighed 3 oz more than the Easton. I believe a large part of it is due to weight distribution. This is an excellent bat, but it does not have the same "pop" as a Marruci or Demarini. Check your league's rules to see if a USSSA bat is permitted or if a USA baseball bat is required.

Selected User Reviews For Easton SPEED COMP USA Baseball Bat | -13 | 1 Pc. Composite | 2 5/8 Barrel
It's not a good idea to go through with it. It is going to snap. It would be an excellent bat for a young player who requires a light bat and is either undersized or attempting to progress to a longer bat. Pre- This bat, crack, was incredible. These, unfortunately, crack. There have been reports of it happening all over the internet. Due to COVID, spring was cut short, so we only had a full season of fall ball, and the bat didn't last the entire season. I filed a warranty claim with Easton, asking if they could credit it toward something else or at the very least replace it with an aluminum bat, but they said no and wished me luck. I understand there are warranty guidelines, but once you get into the more expensive bats, you should be able to get a season out of them at the very least. I'm hoping the next one doesn't crack, but I've already placed an order for a new bat for spring ball, which will most likely not be an Easton. If warranty could at least work with me, I wouldn't have written the negative review. Even though the policy states that they have discretion when it comes to a substitute bat, the employee I spoke with was straightforward in his refusal to assist a long-time Easton customer. Easton bats will no longer be available.
This bat performed admirably for our machine pitch team of 6 and 7 year olds. It was utilized by a number of young people. The bat had plenty of pop and was light enough for the kids to keep a good, fast, and steady swing. With the drop 13, it proved to be an excellent 27-inch bat for kids who still required a lighter weight.
***Update**
My 11-year-old's bat has cracked during practice, rendering it useless. We've only had it for a year and it's already broken. br>br>Each of my boys received a Christmas present. They are extremely fond of them.
Bats from Easton are self-explanatory. Because he was always "behind" the pitch, I bought this bat for my son to use during his games to give him a little more confidence and swing speed. He struggled to keep his form and technique when using the heavier bats. As a result, we practice with a heavier bat to help him gain strength. Then, during games, use this until his strength is where it needs to be and his technique is unaffected.
The weight is 3 oz higher than the listed weight. We bought a 28-inch bat, but it's actually closer to a 16-inch bat. 3oz. instead of the 15 ounces listed.
My son loved it, and his swing has gotten a lot faster as a result of it. The bat did, however, crack in two places after three games. My son loves the bat, so I'm hoping the manufacturer will replace it.
This, according to my understanding, is the lightest hardball bat on the market (14 oz). If bat speed is important to you or your child isn't as big as mine, this is a good option. br>At least half of the kids on the team request to use this bat, and some of them can pound the ball with it.
13 drop? We switched from an Axe bat to an Easton bat because our league requires a USA approved bat, and it's the best way I've seen in a long time to ease a kid into a longer bat. I was pleasantly surprised that despite its light weight, the bat had a lot of pop. My child is a natural at what he does!.
