This product should have been pulled from the market by Norton. They had made the decision to stop working on OS X 10. 4 Tiger, but failed to inform customers, leaving many people, including myself, to discover the hard way that their once great software is now dangerous to install and difficult to uninstall. If you're using OS X 10. 10, you'll need to update your software. 4 THIS PROGRAM SHOULD NOT BE INSTALLED.
I have a Macintosh G5 with OSX Panther installed. This software does not work on my computer, and I am unable to boot from the CD. It was a complete waste of money because none of the features, such as optimization and wipe, are usable. Please keep in mind that: br>br> Norton has discontinued support for the Macintosh operating system and has exited the Macintosh utilities software market.
I'm using an older operating system on a Mac G4. Because I had lost my original Norton systemworks, I needed something to defragment my system. It's fortunate for me that I came across it here. It worked perfectly, and my computer now runs faster than it has in the past.
This item was designed for a Macintosh that was no longer in production. So, of course, it wouldn't work on my new Mac; in fact, it messed up my Mac so badly that I had to reinstall my software. The seller stated that it was compatible with OSX, but did not specify which version. I think it's a rip-off!.
There will be no issues.
On my Powerbook/10, I was unable to use it.
must be taken off the market! This item is not compatible with OS X 10. Norton has stated on their website that they will not be updating version 4 (Tiger). Unfortunately, the only indication that it won't work with Tiger is the fine print on the box, which states that OS X 10. 4 is required. 1 to 10. Many Tiger users, including myself, will likely buy this without realizing it won't work because people rarely check the system requirements unless they're concerned with backward compatibility (rather than current compatibility). When I installed it and ran into a slew of issues, I discovered this the hard way. I didn't realize there was a compatibility problem until I visited the Symantec support website, which prominently displays compatibility and upgrade issues. It's a shame they weren't able to mention them on the box. Because the store won't accept returns on opened software, I'm now stuck with a $140 white elephant. br>br>This product, in my opinion, should have been pulled by Norton. Those who are currently running OS X 10. 1 to 10. At some point, three of them are likely to upgrade to Tiger - It'll most likely happen sooner rather than later - When they do, they'll be stuck with a useless product, which will make you feel ripped off, especially since this dog costs roughly twice as much as the PC version. br>br>I've been using Symantec products on my PCs for years, including SystemWorks, but this is the last time I'll be using them.
I needed to get a new disk, according to the company's website. I made my first call on Wednesday. After more than 30 minutes on hold, I was finally connected with a customer service representative who informed me that I required permission from TECH SUPPORT and that they would be closing early. On Thursday, I called Tech Support, and after three rude Tech Support representatives, I was given an order number to give to Customer Service. Orders are not accepted by Tech. It's now Friday, and I still haven't gotten a Customer Service representative on the phone. There is no prompt for those who require a disk to be delivered. br>br> Because there is no Mac area, I must use the General Help menu. NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE! I feel sorry for those who are forced to deal with this firm. br>br>They should use their anti-anti-anti-anti-anti- anti-anti-anti-anti-anti-anti-anti-anti- This company's management structure is being wiped clean by a virus scan.
