Selected User Reviews For Acronis Disk Director V11 Home
I'm not a fan of how cheap Acronics' disks are. They are so thin and light that they won't spin right in the DVD drive 90 of the time!.
The packaging is attractive, and the user interface is simple. Unfortunately, despite numerous attempts, I was only able to get it to work properly on one of them. Simple operations like resizing or merging partitions either hang or send me to the debugger in Visual Studio. I had similar results with True Image, and this program has proven to be a waste of time. br>br>For a total of nearly $100, I've wasted my money. I'm not sure how this company is still in business. (I suppose suckers like me).
br>br>Acronis Disk Director V11 has been a disappointment for me. I've used it on a Sony VAIO VGN-FXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX SZ440 laptop with 120GB SSD and Vista Business 32-bit operating system bit. The program made the requested changes to the partition size, but Vista didn't notice. I've spent countless hours on the phone with Acronis tech support without getting anywhere. The file system was reported to be corrupted by SheckDisk, and the SSD failed beyond repair in a matter of hours. The fact that Acronis does not guarantee either hardware or data security was the most disappointing aspect of their policy.
This software was purchased with a specific goal in mind - to recover data from a Maxtor One Touch II external hard drive that the operating system had stopped recognizing. I thought this software would do the job after trying out the downloaded trial version, but I was mistaken. The full version was unable to initialize the drive or recover the volume on the external drive that contained the saved data. Although the software has a nice user interface, it doesn't do anything that you can't do with free software from Seagate or Western Digital, or with software that comes standard with Windows 7. In the end, I had to use those programs to reinitialize and reformat the drive, which resulted in the loss of the data I was trying to save, so this software was a complete waste of money for me. Unfortunately, I do not believe it is possible to return it.
I had a hard drive with Windows XP and Windows 7 installed on it. The partition size in Windows XP was greater than in Windows 7. First, I had to shrink the Windows XP partition before expanding the Windows 7 partition. It worked perfectly; however, I recommend backing up all of your files first and performing all operations in a DOS environment by booting from the disk.
It's a waste of time! I'm unable to boot from it as it claims, and Windows 7 refuses to recognize it! clesr is a clesr that steers clesr.
This is a terrible product that doesn't help me at all.
As a tool, it is extremely important. 'Excellent for dealing with hard drives. All operating systems are supported. Very effective and precise. Simple to work with.
