This is my second purchase of this product, which does an excellent job of keeping my computer in good working order. As a result, there will be fewer requests for assistance from a technician. PC Tune-Up by CA Additionally, up-to-date technical assistance is beneficial. This was money well spent.

Tuning up your computer This was a great deal at the time, and it worked perfectly
5/5

I purchased it quite some time ago, and I apologize for taking so long to write a review. I recall it being very useful, but after purchasing the new Norton 360, I had to uninstall it.

A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! I was sold this product by Tigerdirect because I was buying RAM for my machine and the salesman insisted, and guaranteed a 200% increase in speed if I buy this CA PC Tune-Up Up 3
3/5

Why would Microsoft have their Operating System perform at 50% capacity was what I was thinking. Hey, you can use it and then return it for a full refund, said the sales associate. Right, so what's the harm? br>br>It ran a scan and, predictably, recommended that I buy more products and services. It then ran a defrag and registry cleanup, which Windows 7, Vista, and XP all do automatically. Increase in total speed: 0%. When I purchased more RAM, my system became faster. You should have no reason to consider purchasing this product if you maintain your machine with a defragmenter and disk cleanup every few weeks or so, depending on use. It's funny how they advertise that most Fortune 500 companies use this product, but they never say who they are, not even a single company. br>br>The refund process is why this only gets one star instead of two. It's not a refund; I called the number they directed me to and was redirected. I was routed twice to India, and it had been 45 minutes by the time I arrived at the person who could assist me with my return. Everyone kept asking me for my registration name, activation code, serial number, email, and so on. Finally, when I got to the guy who could help me, he directed me to a website, where it turned out I didn't need to call anyone, but that wasn't stated anywhere on their product, receipt, or website. The website then, of course, asks you for all of the same information, plus your mailing address. It then instructs you to print a form, fill it out again with the same information, mail it along with a receipt, and you will receive a gift card in 8 to 10 business days. 10 weeks. Not only did I waste $40 on this garbage software, but I also wasted 80 minutes, paper, envelopes, ink, a stamp, and a trip to the post office in order to get my money back. Obviously, if I had known that getting $40 back would take this long, I would not have wasted my time and would have just swallowed it. This product is useless to anyone who doesn't know how to use Windows, and they make it extremely difficult to return it; this strikes me as shady, and I now feel cheated.

*CAUTION: THIS CONTENT MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS* When I went to buy a memory upgrade for my computer, COMPUSA recommended this product, and I bought it
3/5

I followed the package's instructions and the installation went smoothly; I ran the initial scan and was watching the log when it said it was trying to update an audio driver, which it failed to do. I immediately noticed that I was deafeningly silent, with only a beep to accompany me. When I called the support number, I was connected with an Indian woman who politely informed me that I would not be receiving any free assistance from them because I had installed the program myself. You must have it installed in order to receive assistance. I told him I'd never heard of such a thing and that it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the documentation. He launched a remote session on my computer and proceeded to tell me I had a slew of problems with it, which was why the driver update had failed. He also informed me that I was having problems with my antivirus software and that it was most likely not functioning properly. For $169, he could transfer me to iYogi right away. 99 percent of the time, they'd resolve the issues, including the sound problem. I stated that I would not pay anything to have the sound problem fixed because PC Tuneup was the source of the problem. He said he couldn't help me, but he insisted on calling me back the next day. I told him I needed to speak with someone else, and he put me in touch with customer service, which I had a hard time understanding. She said the same thing to me, and I told her I wanted the problem escalated to a supervisor and that I would not be paying for anything. She said she would transfer me to advanced tech support and then disconnected me after I had to be very persistent. I called back and was finally connected to a very nice lady from India, who dialed in once more. She was able to track down the device and revert the driver to the previous working version. She remained on the phone with me until everything was working properly again. They tried to extort $170 from me, and I was furious.

THE WORST PROGRAM IN THE HISTORY OF PROGRAMMING! THIS PROGRAM IS A WASTE OF TIME! I tried this program and it received high praise from Tiger Direct, but I should have read the reviews first
3/5

It is not user friendly and can cause problems with your computer. I never received my rebate and when I called, I spoke with someone who spoke broken English and put me on hold for ten minutes before being told that I needed to sign up for something that would cost me money in order to receive a rebate. What a befitting remembrance. OFF! Uninstalled this program and called for a refund; after 22 minutes on hold, I was directed to call this other number in Canada; after 10 minutes on hold, they took down some information and told me I needed to write a letter to the company in California. I did everything and never received a refund; every time I called, I was given excuses, so I finally called my credit card and they took it from there; I am not responsible for it. Either Tiger Direct or that obnoxious software firm will be forced to make Good. Anyone else who has been taken advantage of by them should report it to the Better Business Bureau.
