It is actually sometimes necessary for me to make a special chart or table for our boss, although I am not a graphic artist. In my opinion, I might have found another piece of software that's easier to operate if I was more knowledgeable about the field. My task as a word-editor often entails using Visio, and I have never found it easy, but it's not so difficult for someone like me that can't create workable pieces when asked to do so. There's nothing really wrong with it.

My initial impression was that it did not have the libraries the earlier version had, but after a little searching, I found what I needed. It is impossible for me to go back to the old interface now that I have become accustomed to it.

A new version of Visio has been released by Microsoft. There is NO 4GL or data-processing component to it As a design tool, it may seem like one. I understand that ER/Studio and Rational Software Modeler are not the same. Visio is an excellent tool to use if you are creating a technical diagram and not metadata. A user-friendly and powerful tool that offers flexibility and ease of use. Writing tech articles and SDLC documents requires strong technical writing skills.

The only reason I wanted it was so I could make floorplans. I chose the standard version instead of the Pro. Floor plans of any complexity cannot be created in this version due to the lack of shapes catalogs.
