On Windows 10, it works perfectly. 1. I'm not sure if that's of any use.
Educators and students will benefit from the Student/Teacher edition, which is also less expensive. The software is identical to the version that costs more. Given that it's Nuance Software, which is notoriously overpriced for Mac software, I wouldn't expect it to go on sale for Cyber Monday. Funny thing is, I paid $119 for mine. The Amazon price increased by 5 cents on November 26, 2012. What a strange coincidence!

I began using the software to transcribe a large number of interviews I had recently conducted for my research. Due to numerous negative comments on other Dragon Mac software, I was hesitant when I first purchased. In terms of this product, I believe it has performed admirably. I've been dictating directly into MS Word on my Mac while wearing the headset that came with the software. After a brief training period, the software recognizes my voice and dictates in a fluid manner. I've also found that the voice commands I've tried are very effective. As is to be expected, some unusual proper nouns are overlooked, but these can easily be corrected either immediately or later. I'm not sure what else the software could possibly provide. It's been excellent for my purposes. br>br>If you have any questions, please contact me.
Okay, I'm writing my review using the software right now. I'll put the corrections in parentheses so you can judge if it accurately records my voice. br>br>I think the show is fantastic. So far, I've used it to compose a couple of papers. My only gripe is that the cursor occasionally jumps to Orlando (or some other random location) while I'm speaking, forcing me to go back and delete what I said because I have no idea where it went wrong. This is particularly aggravating when I'm reading a large block of text from a book. Every few sentences, I have to look up at the text to make sure the cursor hasn't jumped to an unexpected location on the page. br>br>I've also typed (typed) my handwritten class notes using the program. It is, in my opinion, a significant time saver. This is advantageous for those who have difficulty typing - Whether you have a physical disability or type slowly, we can help. Overall, I think this program is worth buying. I believe the bugs will be resolved with time; all I need to do now is read the manual thoroughly. I hope you find this review useful in deciding whether or not to buy. If you're a student or a teacher, this is a fantastic deal. br>br>As for the previous negative review, looking at the product details, it clearly states that you must be a student or teacher - It's called the student/teacher edition for a reason. This product is only for people who fall into those two categories, so if you don't fit into either of them, don't buy it. You won't be able to use this version unless you know someone who will let you use their school email address to verify your purchase. (However, such unethical practices are not acceptable to me. ) br>br>For the record, I have a brand-new MacBook Pro (purchased in November), which could explain why I haven't had many system issues.
The Mac version is adequate for short business documents, but it fails miserably when it comes to creative writing. If you have to put a document on hold and return to it later, may the gods be with you. Putting together a pre-recorded video existing document is a nightmare to work with, a never-ending source of annoyance. While the software includes features that should handle this situation, they aren't working very well in this version. If you become frustrated and type even a single character from the keyboard, the program will no longer be able to locate locations in the document reliably. The software appears to keep track of its position by counting characters or words, so if you manually add or delete a character or word, it will no longer be able to go to the location you specify. There is supposed to be a feature to deal with this, but it isn't well implemented in this version. br>br>The bottom line is that, unless you're desperate, you should wait for version 12. That's how many versions Windows users say they needed to get a good app. br>br>Technical support is also lacking.
As a graduate student, I must ensure that my papers and discussion boards are of the appropriate length. The commercials and advertisements make it seem like this is a fantastic product, and it is, to some extent. It's different when it's newly trained, for example. Actually, it is correct. However, it always seems to happen at some point during the semester, usually around the middle of the semester, when it loses its ability to maintain accuracy. When it's done, it'll close the program and send an email to bugs@macspeech. com. I'm pretty sure that email address is a black hole, because I can't seem to find any information or updates to fix the issues I'm having with DragonDictate there. Customer service is also of little use. Dragon Dictate does not appear to be updated as frequently as Dragon Speak Naturally. It would be beneficial if the dragon speak naturally program was also available to tonight's users. Because of the difference in how Dictate and Speak Naturally are used, Dictate receives less attention. It's too bad, because a program that works on both systems would solve the problem.
It would necessitate a significant amount of time. I have a feeling I will not use this product, resulting in a loss of over $100. For me, the difficulty of learning to speak with all of the punctuation is too much. I had expected to be able to communicate normally. However, saying caps, commas, periods, and other punctuation marks is not a natural way of speaking. And it seemed like the only words I could say that the program would understand were the ones written for me to say to set it up, because it was looking for those words to be spoken. It didn't seem to understand what I was saying as soon as I strayed from the script.
0 (Mac). This software was deemed unusable by me. Its marketing did not make it clear what the term "student" meant. And it's necessitated by the needs of nuance. You'll need a valid Student ID or a Teaching Certificate to do so. The buyer is not informed of this in the initial advertising. After you've bought the item and opened the box, you'll discover this. It'll be too late by then. A letter with an identification number is included in the software package. It then requests that you provide the aforementioned proof. What proof do you have if it is required? They will then send you a code that will allow you to access the content you have paid for. It isn't returnable, as I discovered. It is, in fact, unusable, useless, and a waste of money for the buyer. If you don't have the necessary proof, you won't be able to proceed. Be careful who you buy from. The phrase "Caveat Emptor" refers to the fact that one should Do you want to bet $116 that you'll lose? 47?.
