The original "digestive health" formula is still in use. Some ferrets have had problems with the new formulation because it is a little richer. Some people have no issues, while others experience issues such as loose stools. So they rebranded the old formula as "digestive health."br>Even back then, this was a VERY rich kibble. Both formulas are difficult for some ferrets to understand. I use a 50/50 mix of this and Orijen Cat in mine. Kitten (another excellent title - the first non-governmental organization Meat ingredients are near the bottom of the list). In any case, feeding a mixture is usually the best option - Variety is better, and if you run out of ideas, you won't have to force them to try something new every time.
haha! Actually, it's kind of amusing. You must collect at least twenty (20) bag corners before sending them to Wysong, who will give you a ten dollar credit toward your next bag purchase. I don't think it's much of a deal! So you spend $450 on groceries, but you only pay $13 for your 21st bag of groceries instead of $23. WOW! plus the time and effort it takes to obtain the credit. sooo. It's a bit of a joke, but mostly an insult, in my opinion. BUT! Their ferret food is either the best or in the top three on the market. So, it's worth the money to me, but I use it in a mixture of three or four different foods. >
It's all good! Chewy. It's the same price on com, with only $4 difference. Shipping is a flat rate of $95. It's not quite as good as getting it for free with Prime, but it's a lot less expensive than $14!
What's in it This mixture contains organic chicken, lamb, meat protein isolate, chicken fat, hydrolyzed ghethin, natural flavor, coconut oil, chia seeds, taurine, calcium propionate, apple pectin, fish oil, yeast extract, citric acid, Chicory root, hmoterol, r

I offer this to all of the rescues, and they will eventually prefer it to Marshalls or the junk food they brought with them. After the first few days of quarantine, go slowly, mixing only about 1 part old food to 10 parts new food. You should quarantine any new ferrets for 14 days before introducing them to your current ferrets, not only for health reasons and to avoid vet bills from any invisible illnesses the new one/s can pass on to yours, but also to give the new ferret/s a period to reduce the stress of changing homes. br>Increase the amount of new food gradually, pausing if they have very loose stools. Increased nutrient density can cause stomach upset for a short period of time. As they adjust to each level change, it should pass them by. br>There is a huge difference in odor, stool quantity, energy, and fur softness. If you choose to feed kibble, make sure any other foods do not contain legumes (beans and peas) in case of genetic tendencies to bladder stones. br>It's also a good idea to give some healthy fat, such as drops of wild caught salmon or pollock oil with only tocopherols as a preservative. br>If you choose to feed kibble, this is the best of the best. Stick to kibbles that are low in carbs, high in protein, and low in fish quality. Nature's Variety Ultimate Protein Duck flavor and Mama Dawn's Magic Souppie (available in her Facebook group) are two of my favorites.
This diet has made a huge difference for my son after just over a month on it. His coat is much softer and more lustrous, almost as if he's wearing a winter coat! I didn't notice until I adopted his sister a week ago that he has almost no smell. Her body odor was ten times worse than his, and the stench from her feces was even worse! They both quickly adjusted to the new food and now enjoy it! Their poop is much more solid and less stinky, making accident cleanup a breeze! br>br>When I was researching and learning about ferrets, I knew I only wanted the best, and it came down to a choice between this brand and another; the only thing I wish this brand had that the other brand did not is convenience. The other brand is available in a variety of pet stores, which is convenient, but I had heard that it causes digestive issues, so I went with Wysong. I would easily give this product 5 stars if it were available in stores.
I'm glad I bought this one after looking at all the food I could find. It's something she really enjoys. Within a week of adopting her, I changed her. We don't want any digestive issues to arise if we can avoid them by eating the right foods. When I get her feed bucket to refill her bowl, my ferret waits for me to come back with it. She is on the verge of jumping out of her cage to get her food. It's something she really enjoys.
The ferret appeared to be in good health, but the strong odor did not sit well with me. After doing some research, I decided to try Wysong. What a huge difference there is between the two! The food was liked by Ferret and the transition to 100% Wysong took less than 3 days. The noxious smell is no longer present. The ferret is odorless, and the litter box isn't nearly as bad - I'd even say "poop odor" isn't a problem. When it comes to food, much higher potency and quality of ingredients If you haven't already, give this product a try; it's fantastic!.
"The best of the best," she said, "really high quality, and great for weight gain. " The exact opposite was my experience. We have four ferrets and have been introducing this to them gradually. Our ferrets developed projectile diarrhea as a result of eating it. It was the WORST disaster I'd ever witnessed! I became concerned (they had also lost weight) and took them to the veterinarian, not realizing it was the food. We paid $400 for her to examine each of them and tell me there was nothing wrong with them; it was the food. I recommend avoiding this if your ferrets haven't already eaten it. If you're concerned about your weight or coat, or simply want the best of the best, this is the jacket for you. There are plenty of soup recipes (duck/chicken) on the internet that won't make them sick and won't leave you scrubbing the walls and floors! Because the vet bill was not worth it, I gave it one star for value for money. They ate it, so it gets 3 stars for flavor. Three stars for presentation because I have no idea how a bag of ferret food is supposed to be attractive, and while it didn't look bad when they ate it, the cage did.
After years of feeding them a counterfeit brand, I switched our clowns to this a few months ago. What a stark contrast! Their fur is thick and fluffy, and they're all healthy and fat. We thought our one boy, now five, was nearing the end of his days because he was so skinny. However, he is now absolutely stunning. What a relief it is! He's an important family member. The few extra dollars per month are well worth it.
I tried gradually transitioning my ferret from Marshall's to this food. After tasting this, he refused to eat anything from Marshall's. So much for easing into things gradually.
