Questions & Answers

In a 25-pound bag of pellets, how many cups of food are there?

I'm not sure how many cups there are, but I have two chinchillas and this feeds them for months at a time. I've purchased two bags in the last year. They still have a lot of it after five years. They also feed for free, as evidenced by the fact that the bowls are never empty. They also consume a lot of food. They're piglets, after all!

My chinchilla despises it, and I'm at a loss for what to do. He simply avoids all pellets in this and only eats Kaytee. Is there anyone who has a plan?

When it first arrived, I had the exact same problem. I was on the verge of returning the entire package when I realized what had happened. Shake and rub the pellets to make them smell a little better. You could also try not providing her with any options, but make sure she doesn't go hungry.

This is the best Chinese food I've ever had! I have six rescue chins who came to me after the breeder died and the Chins were neglected for a year after she died
5/5

They were fed Purina show rabbit chow that had been sitting around for a while and had not been kept fresh. They've filled in and look amazing since I've been feeding them this stuff. It has made a significant difference in their recovery. Timothy Hay is also a high-quality feed that I feed every day with this food. Chins require hay, and Oxbow Hay is one of the best. If you adore your Chins, this is the food to get. The 25-pound bag lasts three times as long as the 20-pound bag. My 6 adult Chinchillas have been with me for 5 months. br>br>Here are a few of the Chins I've rescued.

Chinchilla Food in Bulk at the Best Price We welcomed Guinness (Black Fur Chinchilla) into our family 8 years ago, and he came with a lot of questions about how to care for a Chinchilla because we had never owned anything like him before (we were mostly cat and dog owners)
5/5

We used to go to pet stores and buy him seeds and treats mixed in with compressed hay pellets. He gradually began to eat fewer compressed hay pellets and more treats and seeds, and he became extremely picky about what he ate. br>br>We didn't think much of it at the time, but one day I noticed his eye was watering uncontrollably. We took him to an exotic vet (because our little guys can't go to a regular vet) and they noticed that because he wasn't eating the pellets and only the treats, his jaw line had slightly deformed and his back molars had begun to overgrow, causing him discomfort (malocclusion), which if left untreated can result in death. br>br>Side note** Chinchillas eat hay pellets to naturally grind down their back molars (Chinchillas teeth continuously grow over time; if they did not grind down their teeth, they would grow into the roof of their mouth and cause eventual and painful death)br>br>After learning that we were essentially causing our Chinchilla pain due to the food choices we provided him, and after a week of tube feeding him like a baby It took him a few weeks to realize that his treat food would no longer be available. However, he eventually resumed his hay pellet consumption! br>br>Don't make the same mistake we did. I now buy this food exclusively for our little guy, and he hasn't needed another trip to the dentist. br>br>Don't make the same mistake we did. Chinchilla Fortified Small Animal Feed from Oxbow Animal Health is available to purchase. It turned out to be just right for our little guy, and it will be just right for yours, too.

My picky chinchillas approve of this high-quality chinchilla diet
5/5

Although not the best value for money, you aren't buying 25 pound sacks of chinchilla pellets at a time, and all of my chinchillas seem to prefer this to the pellets I ordered from Exotic Nutrition in terms of taste and flavor. It also doesn't include any unnecessary "treats" that would otherwise be included in some other "value-added" package. added" chinchilla blends, which is harmful to your chinchillas. br>Plain, high-quality chinchilla pellets are preferable to blends that include raisins and other treats (because your chinchilla will eat the snacks before the pellets, which is bad for keeping them on a healthy diet and avoiding excessive carbs). In comparison to the Exotic Nutrition chinchilla diet with rose hip, which I also purchased, the bag of pellets contained very little "dust. " So far, I'm very pleased with the product's quality in that regard. br>I wouldn't say no to ordering it in the future, but I'm currently using Mazuri Chinchilla Diet because it appears to be recommended by all the chinchilla experts/owners I follow online, on social media, or who have written in-depth blogs for newbie chinchilla owners.

The only thing you should feed a chinchilla is food! The best chinchilla food available in the mainstream market! With all of my small pets, I've always trusted the Oxbow brand
5/5

Kaytee should not be purchased because it is harmful to the health of animals. All of my pets have lived happily past their expected lifespans; half of this is due to love and care, and the other half is due to OXBOW! My chinchilla is lovely and healthy, and when he runs out of oxbow, he slams his dish! It is also highly recommended that you purchase their treats. Even small animals require a well-balanced diet.

It does not appeal to Chinchillas as much as other foods
4/5

I purchased this product after reading positive reviews. I'm not sure if the chinchillas are picky, but they didn't seem to enjoy it. They eat it, but it remains on the table for a while until they are hungry again. They eat the other food I buy them as soon as it is placed in their bowl. br>br>I assume this is good food because they ate it and didn't get sick. I won't buy it again because they prefer other foods and this one is expensive, even though all of the other foods are raising their prices at the same time. I despise profiteers who are only looking for a quick buck.

It's a big hit with Chinchilla
5/5

My female chinchilla, who is a year and a half old, enjoys it tremendously. It's similar to what she was eating at the breeders, and I gradually added it to the original feed until she only ate this when I first brought her home (the best way to ease them into a new food). She eats well and appears to enjoy it; when it's time to refill, there are rarely any pellets left over. I feed her between 2 and 3 times per day. 3 oz every 24 hours, then discard what's left; the 10 lb bag lasted her about eight months (it was just cheaper to buy 10 lbs than 5 lbs most of the time). br>br>Chinchillas can be finicky, picking up a specific pellet only to eat half of it before discarding it and picking up another. They should also be fed pellets rather than mixtures containing fruits, nuts, and other healthy ingredients, because they are picky and, like human toddlers, will only eat "the good stuff" while ignoring the healthy pellets. Use "the good stuff" only for special occasions. In addition to the pellet food, make sure there is plenty of timothy hay available.

This is a purchase that you can't go wrong with
5/5

For my chins, I like oxbow food. rabbits. I'm hoping THIS seller will keep carrying my 10 pound chins bag. Their customer service department is outstanding. In addition, the price is reasonable. We had a shipping mishap, and they were on it right away. They had a replacement bag out to me while I was scraping the bottom of the previous bag. Things happen, and it's all about the customer service, so I'm sticking with this seller because peace of mind is invaluable, especially when shopping online.
