In the dark - As a guinea pig, which is a small rodent cousin of hamsters which are cousins of mice I would think that it would be ok since it is made for guinea pigs and hamsters are cousins of mice- Probably try a small amount and watch them for effects such as diarrhea excessive drinking of water, or other symptoms, and discontinue if they develop them. I think it would be ok most of the time-- Despite the fact that it is hairless, our skinny pig (a hairless guinea pig) loves this food - except for the green pellets. First, the bag I received was NOT the bag I ordered of Guinea pig food. In this listing, it was specifically stated that it contained fruits, seeds, and nuts, but I clearly do not find any of those things. I have is that the bag is not even half full and it doesn't feel close to 4 pounds. Compared to what I received, the price was great for the listed product, but not for what I.
You can choke them (or even kill them! ) by planting seeds in them. It can tear up their stomachs or cause them to lose control.
