This mixture should be consumed in moderation as part of their daily diet. To avoid selective eating, I only give my hamster Kaytee Fortified pellets with a smidgeon of the multi mixed in the bowl. Be aware that they enjoy sunflower seeds and corn, and if fed too much of either as a daily diet, the hamster will eventually only eat sunflower seeds, which is not good for them. Also, a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables are good for your little hamster; do some research to figure out what to feed him/her.

Until two weeks ago, I was a big fan of this dwarf hamster food. First and foremost, I would like to state that my purchase was completed on August 30, 2019. On September 1, 2019, I received it. Let's fast forward to early October, and I'm about halfway through the bag. When I reach into the bag to get some food, I notice a string of web attached to my hand, which I initially mistook for dust from not properly closing the bag. Then, two days later, I see a swarm of moths emerge from the bag. The number of bugs that came out astounded me. I noticed all the spider webs on the inside of the bag. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too busy trying to get this food and bugs out of my house.
I'll be honest, I don't eat this on a regular basis. I had no idea seed mixes were bad for you or that hamster kibble/blocks existed when I was a kid. I had a hamster who ate a seed mix similar to this and became obese as a result of picking out his favorite bits. Because he was so large, he became stuck in his habitrail tubes. His wheel served as a bed for the poor fat little guy. br>br>Now, I feed my pets Oxbow kibbles, but I keep a bag of this seed mix on hand to give them as a treat. This is something "different" from the usual vegetables that I feed to my hamster, mice, and rabbit (in small amounts). They all seem to enjoy it, and because it's a seed mix, I can toss it around their cages and stir up the bedding to encourage foraging behavior. It'll last a while because feeding them too much can make them sick, but feeding them this stimulating, colorful food is so much fun that I wish I could give them more. br>br>This is a very cute little food mix for a fun treat!.
I bought two of these, and they are identical to the picture (same package, same food assortment, same four). Bags weighing 5 pounds). One of the two bags had a rip or cut in it, and some of the food spilled into the box, which is why I gave it a star. I simply taped the bag's front. Aside from that, they're what I bought. *To demonstrate the size of the bags, I included a remote in the photo.
It was less expensive than the pet store and the grocery store, and I didn't have to leave the house, which was convenient; I have two hamsters, and they both seem to prefer this food to the last one I chose. Maybe it's more recent? In any case, this is something I would suggest.
This looks like a great combination; my gerbil is a picky eater, so he only eats the larger seeds like pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds. Basically, they can't be fed only the larger things because they're only allowed a certain amount of them. I'm thinking of making a granola bar for him out of the little seeds, as he seems to like them in this form when I buy them from the pet store. Still a fantastic product, and given how much of it is made up of small seeds, it may be ideal for those with gerbils who enjoy them.
It's a hit with my fussy hamster. Although I haven't tried it, I'm sure it's tasty. I tried different foods, and he protests by flipping bowls. I'm a hamster-obsessed adult with a hamster-obsessed hamster-obsesse I wish he was content. I give him sliced squash, zucchini, carrots, apple, and berries (not all at once)- And this is what he eats. He is, without a doubt, chubby. Yes, he appears to be content. Who knew I'd end up raising my pandemic hammy as a hamster mom?.
Because of the KAYTEE brand, which I believe is a leader in small animal supplies, I chose this product. br>The first bag I got was damaged. After contacting customer service, I received a replacement bag. Regrettably, the same thing happened with the second bag, and it was also broken. I believe the issue is due to the package design, so I did not contact customer service again. br>The bag contains a lot of synthetic food, but none of my four hamsters seem to enjoy it. Every day, there's a lot of food left over; I'm sorry for the waste, and I'm hoping that KAYTEE can improve the taste of synthetic food.
Just over a month ago, I purchased this food. We regularly refilled our hamster's bowl, but our hamster was becoming increasingly thin. We chalked it up to old age until I moved her cage to the living room to keep an eye on our hamster, who appeared to be dying. br>We'd feed her, but she'd just carry it around and move it without ever eating it. This bag has a strange vibe to it. The previous bag was eaten without incident, and this bag had no visible bugs or mold. It was bought on Amazon rather than from a third-party seller. br>*shrug
Will purchase a different brand in the future because my hamster would rather starve to death than eat this.
