My pigs were eating this for one week, it was dark, dry, and seemed fine until suddenly they started runny noses and had watery stools. I stopped giving them the hay right away, but for one he was not so lucky he passed away I have a 5yr old who is heartbroken and a guinea pig brother who is even more heartbroken. Please don't buy this brand of food. It was the only change in diet or lifestyle that they made. If you receive this message, please be cautious.
A hay bale of Timothy hay made by Kaytee recently arrived at our farm. Despite being a 6 lb bag, we make sure our piggies eat it all. A rock and a stick have been found in their bags in the past. So far, we have gotten coupons as a result of complaining. The bag's purchasers are supposed to be able to solve the problem using this? They will get another chance because we gave Their pile of hay was filled with cotton and a stick last night when I noticed them getting vitamin C. Those are the only words that exist. It is possible that they would have gotten sick if I didn't check. Make sure your hay is not Kaytee and please do not buy it for the safety of your little ones.
Then read on! As a result of bad reviews I saw, I decided to take a chance and I am glad Despite the fact that the hay smells delicious and is fresh, it is a nice green color. My piggie enjoys Whether I got lucky or if they are stepping up their game because of the bad reviews is not clear to me.
Update
I can only say that I am happy. There have been times when I've ordered this hay and have received a bag that's so dry my guinea won't touch it or it's a big bag of ash with no actual pieces. There are some bags that I will not purchase again because they are unusable.
I have purchased this product many times from our local pet store as well as Fred Meyer and have never had a problem. My bunny loved this hay so much, I decided to order a subscription on Amazon so I could make things easier for her. I made a terrible decision! Most of the hay, if you can even call it hay at all, was powdered hay that had been I no longer gave it to my bunny as it was consistently causing him to sneeze when he tried to eat it. Despite the fact that it was a good product, I would recommend buying locally rather than on Amazon because the quality was awful!.
Since my guinea pig won't eat the burned stalks, I always had a pile of them to throw out whenever I cleaned his cage. So I decided to get a small bag of Kaytee hay to see if that would work better for me. I threw out the entire bag after testing to see if anything could be salvaged and found it to be worse. It is not worth your money, unless your pet likes to eat all the.
Despite being very loose and yellow brown in color, this Timothy Hay was old, smelled, and had a bad smell. When I bought straw, I thought it was a twig! There was no way my Rabbit would In addition to being quick, the best part about this site was that I could get it right away! It is rare that I buy a hat from a store that delivers it to my door in less than a day! It's always fresh, green, and not loose in the bag when I get Sandy's hay! My hay is always in the bag when I reach for it. I always have to pull up and out to pick it up! It will be chowed away by my rabbit! I used the hay that Amazon sent in our garden since it was not that good. monitor the posts next time to see what many have to.
Oxbow is the way to go. It used to be that I used Kaytee products on my chinchillas, but the company has changed its formulas and we no longer use any of their products. Rather than feeding my chinchillas this hay, I recently purchased a set of 4 different types for them, and they I had gone through an entire bag of hay and they only ate maybe 15 percent of it. At this point, I was looking at an entire bag and to my disbelief they had eaten this much of it. It was covered in tiny pieces of hay and powder on the other half of the bag. They've changed all of their products to a less-than-desirable quality, and I could not be more disappointed. Kaytee will never be on my shopping list again. Our family has been going to Oxbow since then and the quality is so worth the money.
