This bulb burned out in less than a month, which irritates me. I had high hopes that I had finally found a bulb that would work, but I'll have to keep looking for more cost-effective alternatives. (As a side note, I leave the bulb on for 8 hours. ) My turtle gets 12 hours of sun a day.
This bulb is unquestionably good. I was on the lookout for one for my tortoise and came across this one. It's cozy, and there's plenty of light. If you're buying for a tortoise, however, I would recommend getting a ceramic heat emitter so you can turn it off at night. I read somewhere that leaving it on 24 hours a day, seven days a week could harm their eyes. These bulbs are highly recommended; you get what you pay for, and they are excellent. It also includes a temperature sticker, which I believe worked reasonably well. I also purchased one on the side, which is only a few degrees off. Unfortunately, I ruined mine when I peeled it off to move it to another location. So once you've put it in place, don't take it out.
One light never worked, and the other went out after a few days. It was complete garbage.
For my turtle, this is the best heat bulb I've found. Durable, long-lasting, produces a lot of heat, and has the perfect thickness. In the future, I will purchase more. Two bulbs for the price of one, plus a stick-on thermometer! I'm going to look into their other products.
What good is a bulb if it is broken? Not to mention the time and gas it will take me to return it to a drop-off location!.
My lizard enjoys them because they work well. I've never bought a bulb that lasts as long as this one. My purchase was a great success. My bearded dragon appreciates it, as well.
