How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

For basking reptiles, use an incandescent daylight bulb.
Provide reptiles with radiant heat (infrared light).
There are four different wattage options to choose from.
Reptiles need to keep their body heat in order to be happy and healthy, so this bulb helps them do just that.
Reptile Bulb is one of the included components.

Questions & Answers

Is this safe for our two canaries and parkeets?

Yes. Because the bulb produces some heat, make sure they can't touch it.

Is it possible to use this bulb in a regular lamp, or does it require a special lamp?

I wouldn't put it in a regular lamp because it gets too hot. That's why the heat lamps are made of metal and don't cause any melting. So unless you don't have anything around it, and I believe it needs to be able to handle a certain voltage, it's not going to work. Flukes would be my first port of call.

What wattage would be appropriate for my beardie's 40g tank?

100w

Is it possible to use this on a habitat with a glass top rather than a screen top? Is it possible that this will become too hot?

It will become unbearably hot. It's designed to keep tanks warm. You can use a daylight led bulb instead of a heat bulb if you don't need it to be warm. They only get warm when you touch them, and they're perfect for animals.

For daylight use, high-quality basking bulbs (clear-type) blue)
5/5

These 60W Flukers branded bulbs are high-quality daylight basking bulbs (clear). blue). My original bulb from a different manufacturer's combo fixture burned out in only 2 minutes. These, on the other hand, are still going strong months after purchase. The current price is unbeatable, and it also comes with Free and Quick Prime Shipping!.

Mine went on for an inordinate amount of time
5/5

My 60 watt light bulb just burned out this week, so I'm going to get another one. However, the most recent time I purchased one was on September 19, 2020! I'm not sure if it's because I set it on a timer to turn on and off after a certain amount of time or because I bought a super bulb. I've never had a bulb from any brand last more than a few months, so I'm going to give this one another shot and see what happens!.

Burned out in a matter of days, it consumes an unusually large amount of power for its wattage and brightness
3/5

Mine burned out after only 54 hours and never actually produced heat. In a 60-degree room, the bulb itself only got to 108 degrees. Some phones can get much hotter than that. It was too cold to heat anything that wasn't within 2 inches of the heat source. A standard 15W incandescent bulb (only $1 at the store) produced more light and heat.

It's an incandescent light bulb, which means it works
5/5

My son keeps his hermit crabs in these. They give off exactly 60 watts of incandescent heat and have kept his pets occupied for years. For an incandescent bulb used 12 hours per day, the bulbs have a lifespan of 6 to 12 months. I'll keep buying them as long as they're still available.

It arrived in perfect condition
5/5

It really works. So far, everything has gone well. It could have been presented in a more appealing manner. It had to be broken, I thought. 60 watts of blue light Throughout the day, I use it. For my young ball python in a 10 gallon tank with a screen top, it appears to be the right wattage. As a source of secondary heat For added safety, I have an UTH (under tank heater) connected to a thermostat. On the warm side of the tank, I hang this bulb (in a dome reflector). I adjust it based on the readings from the thermometer and the temperature gun.

Lasts a long time Because the first bulb I bought (of a different brand) only lasted six days, I ordered two more
5/5

I do, however, switch between night and day heat lamps for a total of 12 hours per day. However, these bad boys lasted me at least a month, if not two, and I'm only now using the second bulb, so I'd say they were a great buy!.
