Questions & Answers
When it comes to reptiles, you should never use colored bulbs. Bearded dragons can only use white light and ceramic heat emitters as heat sources. Colored bulbs are known to cause blindness in reptiles and should be avoided.
Yes, I have a dimmer thermostat.
It produces heat almost instantly, and it has a 1500-hour lifespan. It's linked to many environmental and human factors, and if you use it for a long period of time every day, your life span will be shortened. br>If you have any additional questions about this product, please contact us at any time; we will be happy to assist you.br>Thanksbr>DGE
I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't be done.

Any bulb labeled "Infrared for Snakes" is almost certainly not infrared. Humans cannot see infrared light at all, and I repeat, cannot see infrared light at all! Don't believe the myth that snakes can't see the red spectrum and thus aren't bothered by it. Even if they don't see the light as red, they can feel it. I fell for that myth, and it took me a long time to figure out why both of my consistently feeding ball pythons stopped eating for months after I switched to these IR heat bulbs from heating pads and ceramic heat bulbs (which generate heat but no light). They were agitated because their enclosure was always lit up during the day. They're fine for generating heat and light during the day, but don't leave them on all the time! IR wavelengths are invisible to the naked eye, but video cameras and cell phone video cameras can detect them. Find any remote control for a TV or DVD player that has the little clear dome at the end of it and record it with a video camera while pressing any button. You will see that little clear dome light up with each press of the button. Infrared light is what you see there.
On the first day of use, the first one (of a two-pack) shattered all over the cage. The second lasted only two days before shattering as well. They are both a waste of money and a risk to one's health. Other bulbs in the same fixtures have not shattered in the past or since. This purchase has left me speechless. I was thinking about returning the package with the shattered bulbs inside, but I decided not to.
These bulbs were the best deal I could find. This is my second set of these bulbs, and they last a long time. For any lizard enclosure, these bulbs are highly recommended. The best value for my money and the best warmth.
When the bulb blew out, glass shattered and fell into the turtle tank (unharmed).
During the night, the turtles bask more.
That last review needs to be scrapped because both bulbs burned out shortly after it was written. I would not recommend these; do not make the same mistake I did by purchasing them.
