Questions & Answers
It would most likely work well on your Irish setter. I used it on my horse's body, as well as her mane and tail, to help her shed her long winter coat, and it worked wonders. This brush resembles a large pin brush, similar to the one I used to groom my Chow. I can't speak highly enough of Oster's products. I hope you found it useful.
That is, I suppose. Because it is a heavier brush, it can get through horse hair, but I'm not sure if it would work if there were delicate tangles. I used it on my Pyrenees dog, but I had to go over it again with a smaller toothed brush to get all of the small hairs.
Yes. It's a great brush for manes and tails, and it's one of my favorites. Long human hair would benefit from it, and it would pair well with a detangler lotion.
It might work, but it's best for long haired animals like horses. tail.

STYLES FOR HAIR My ethnicity is African-American. I'm an American woman who uses this brush to detangle my natural hair. Let me tell you something - br>br> It is far superior to any beauty-related product. I've never used a better supply detangler! Quality screams from this brush: thick bristles, solid, stout handle, and a perfect fit in my hand! Furthermore, the bristles seem to glide effortlessly through my hair, causing no discomfort.
There are two Clydesdales as well. I don't usually write reviews, but this brush meets both criteria. It goes through my horse's mane much faster and pulls less, and tangles are easily removed. My horses even prefer it to the old brush on their feet, which they disliked. My husband enjoys it so much that he now uses it to brush our dogs. (yay).
When my miniature horses shed, this method works perfectly. As it winds across the prairie, the manes become extremely knotted, but they detangle easily. Because the handle is a little larger and has a rope hole at the end, it is easy to hang up for storage if you have arthritis. The build quality is excellent, and it is well worth the investment. If I needed to, I would buy it again.
It is popular among Australians as well. Our Australian Shepherd has decided that grooming is something he enjoys. Although we use the furminator, we prefer to use a softer brush. This one has a nice handle, and he enjoys the massage it provides. There is no fur picked up by it. When we use this, he rolls around and grunts a little. I like how you hold it and think you'll get a lot of mileage out of it.
These brushes come in two sizes: one for my horse and one for my cats. On both, it's effective. However, I bought it primarily for its ergonomic design, as I have grip issues. The handle has a nice shape and is thick enough to be comfortable to hold. The horse hair easily comes out of the brush if I simply knock it against the side of the stable or against a post. The cat hair has to be pulled out of it, and I'm not sure it gets as much cat hair off of the cats as a regular cat brush would, but on the plus side, they love having their fur brushed!.
Cleaning is a breeze. The bristles are plastic and fairly flexible, allowing you to brush and detangle without ripping out a lot of hair and causing little pain when you hit a snag. To protect the horse's skin, the bristle ends are capped with small balls. No bristles have come loose and the ball capped ends of the bristles are still intact, indicating that it is a durable product.
When brushing your horse's mane and tail, it's not awkward. It's fantastic. Also, there isn't much breakage.
My horses' manes and tails respond best to this brush. It removes the worst tangles with minimal effort and does not remove excess hair. It's a joy to hold and operate.
