Questions & Answers
The length of time it takes to grow out your hair is determined by its thickness. For regular horse mane, this is fine. Course for a draft horse that has recently returned from a winter in northern Scotland!
I use it to thin out the coats of my aussie dogs. I used it to thin out the top part of my horses' tails, but never the entire tail. To avoid shortening the longer mane and tail hairs, divide them into sections. It's a fantastic tool, and I use it all the time.
Yes, you can trim it a little or a lot, and because it doesn't pull as hard as some of the others, my horses don't mind. It is also effective in removing the undercoat from dogs.

It's been years since I've pulled a mane. I usually use a solo comb, but the mane on my new pony was so thick that I didn't think it would do a good enough job and would take forever, so I bought this after seeing it recommended on Facebook. The first image shows the situation before using thinner, while the second image shows the situation after using thinner. It doesn't appear to have changed much, but it has significantly thinned it out - You can tell by the amount of hair on the floor! After that, I used a solocomb to trim the mane. This mare was terrified of me "pulling" her mane, but she handled the smart tail part of the process beautifully. It took a long time to finish with the solo comb because she was having tantrums every time I teased her hair back, thinking I was going to pull it out. But, in the end, she realized I wasn't going to hurt her and that she was fine!.
Because I couldn't find a wider version for manes, I used this instead. It worked wonders on my 1/2 thoroughbred, 1/2 percheron with a thick mane. It was extremely effective! When I first started, my mane was about 10 inches long, and I followed the instructions on a YouTube video. The results were painless, quick, and looked pulled rather than cut. I had previously tried and failed with other combs. I lent it to a friend, who had similar success with it on her warmblood.
It's a miracle! After reading the other reviews, I decided to give it a try. Years ago, I wish I'd known about this thinning comb! My horse is a warmblood with a thick mane. He despises having even the tiniest section of his mane yanked. His mane is ready for the show ring in about 10 minutes! It's well worth the money, and it outperforms all other products I've used.
We train service dogs for veterans who have served in the military. I bought this for my horse from DFW Canines for Veterans! We used it on our dogs, after all! We absolutely adore this product; it outperforms the furminator!.
This did exactly what it was supposed to do. My horse's mane and tail came out beautifully; I wish I had done it a year ago.
It turned out to be even better than I had hoped for! I used it on both of our horses. a TB and a Clyde/draft cross with a thick, long mane It's a breeze to use, and the results are fantastic. and the blade hasn't dulled! It was shipped the same day, and yes, it is from the United States. Nonetheless, it arrived ahead of schedule. I am overjoyed. It is strongly suggested.
It works well and is of good quality. According to the advertisement.
My finicky mare now sits still for mane pulling because it's so simple to use. It's being used by everyone in the barn.
