In the nylon fabric cell, the gel material that freezes is contained. You'll simply put it on after freezing the entire boot. Because the hair and skin do not get cold enough otherwise, you should fully wet the limb you are putting it on. I've had mine for nearly two years and they work great and stand up to daily use.

In my opinion, if you can keep your dog stationary while lying down, it could work, but it is designed for a horse's leg, and I believe it would be difficult to get a dog to lay stable with it on.
They're ideal for my 15-year-old daughter. He's a 2h Haflinger, but he's got a lot of bone. If you have a smaller pony with less bone, I believe you will need a smaller size.

This was in addition to the cold hosing I was doing. It worked better for me on my horse than a cold water bandage and a wet leg. br>br>However, I came up with a brilliant new application for this. I was unfortunate enough to be in the path of someone else's horse who was being sold while I was treating my own horse. My leg was lacerated and bruised from mid-foot to knee after I was knocked down. I wrapped my own leg in this while hosing my horse's leg, and it was the best ice treatment I've ever had! There'll be no futile attempts to hold an ice pack with ace bandages wrapped around it. This thing stayed put thanks to the strong velcro straps. I could ice my leg while walking, and I'll keep one of these ice boots in my freezer at all times, ready to treat my horse or myself.
When frozen, this wrap is said to keep its softness. It most certainly does not! The cells harden to the same degree as regular ice cubes. As a result, cooling on the horse's leg is uneven, with some areas becoming extremely cold while others remain warm. This product would be far superior if the cells remained soft and conformed to the leg. In its current state, I find the boot to be only marginally useful. I'm looking for a replacement product, and I only gave it two stars because it's relatively easy to put on and stays on.
I use them at least 4 times a week, freezing them overnight, taking them out, and using them on my mare's troublesome front legs for approximately 1-minute each time. After 5 hours (by the time I take them off, they're pretty melted), bring them home and store them in the freezer for the next day's use. Overall, they're simple to use and maintain, and they've escaped puncture or damage thus far. I'd recommend it!.
Does the job I assume most of you have refrigerators and freezers in your barns. We have horse odor because the ice packs are stuck in the fabric/Velcro wrap. We have horse hair in our frozen foods. In our kitchen, we have ice cream. Before freezing it, I tried wrapping it in grocery bags, but it didn't always work. Version 2 is a possibility. Is it true that ice packs will be removed from 0?.
This is an excellent purchase and a fantastic find. I like how quickly I can put it on my horse and how easily it adapts to his leg curves. I bought it to help with a swollen hock, but it can also be used on his lower legs if necessary. I use a 20-minute application on my horse. The velcro straps help keep it in place (no slipping), and it can be worn for up to 30 minutes at a time. I've even applied ice to my own feet. It can be used to treat back pain, shin splints, and other conditions. 3 hours, and it stays cool for several hours more. I would strongly suggest this product to anyone looking for a simple, convenient, and budget-friendly solution. re-usable ice boot that is environmentally friendly.
This was purchased to assist my wife in alleviating her chronic foot pain. The other 'gel socks' don't keep their cold charge as long as this one does. It's easy to wrap around irregularly shaped body parts, such as around an ankle and past the end of a foot, thanks to the compartmentalized segmented design. The strong velcro straps keep it in place with just the right amount of tension. The only drawback is the amount of space this item takes up in our freezer! I would buy it again. br>br>.
The ice wraps' velcro and stretch are tough and long-lasting. They don't take up much room in the freezer, and the horse and pony I used them on didn't seem to mind at all! They are simple to put on and remove, and I would recommend them to anyone who owns a horse!.
Easily accessible - Simply freeze it overnight and it will be ready to eat the next day. I liked how the large elastic straps provided some compression. They were uncomfortable for my horse to wear for more than 15 minutes at a time - I believe he became overheated.
