I used it twice, but no matter what water conditioner we used or tried, our betta tank developed a lot of brown algae as a result of it. So, after more research and trial and error, we decided on white sand, which has proven to be the most effective for our betta's 10 gallon tank, which he shares with a pleco named Plaky! CaribSea Super Naturals Aquarium Sand is the white sand I use from PetSmart. I hope this helps.

Exactly as stated. It appears to be in good condition. I mean, it's White Rocks, so I'm not sure what kind of review you're after. If you're a fan of white rocks, this is the place to be. This is going to turn you on.
It's a bit pricey for a bunch of small rocks, but it's reasonable when compared to similar items. These are small pieces of gravel that are slightly jagged. Some stones are pinkish, greenish, or greyish in color, with others being white. The variety isn't a problem for me. It looks great with some moss balls and the colors of my betta. Even after I rinsed it in a sieve, there were some floaty bits. I used a spoon to scoop out the majority of them. When I moved him in, I believe he still found one or two and tried to eat them. In a quiet corner, he spat them out. br>br>With the help of some tetra quick start bacteria, my new tank cycled well and quickly. My betta appears to be in good spirits.
I washed them several times. Soaking in fresh water until the next rinse is completed. I did this for 48 hours as directed on the package, and the water in my established aquarium was very cloudy when I added them. The cloudy water lasted for about a week after I did two water changes! In the following week, I lost three fish.
The color of the sand is nice and white. For my 3 gallon tank, I only used about 3 lbs of the 5 pound bag I ordered. I didn't have to rinse the gravel away. Following the addition of water, the water became extremely clear. I am pleased with my purchase.
Aquarium gravel of superior quality. It looks fantastic and is well-presented. When cleaning the aquarium from top to bottom, it's simple to do. When new, there was a small amount of dust that was easily washed away before installation. If the need arises, I will purchase again.
White synthetic gravel at a low price. br>This is not the case. This item is not something I would recommend. br>In addition, this is the tiniest 5 pound bag I've ever seen.
It's also VERY white, like styrofoam white, and it doesn't appear natural.
