It's a breathtakingly beautiful, natural-looking place. looking for a color This is a great combination for my shale theme in Ohio. br>br>However, and this is not intended as a criticism, this grade is a little lower than I'd hoped. It has a crushed stone texture to it, with jagged edges in some places. My corydoras, snails, and Bolivian rams are fond of digging in the substrate for food. It doesn't appear to bother them, but I believe the grade could be finer and smoother for them. Imagine yourself walking down a gravel driveway barefoot, and you'll get a sense of what I'm thinking. This is only mentioned because it's difficult to tell what the gravel texture will be like simply by looking at it online. br>br>To summarize: br>I believe it would be an excellent choice for angels, discus, and other mid-level athletes. top- fishes from the open ocean For corydoras, geophagus, and shellfish, I believe it is a poor choice. This is like a slightly wider/flatter pea gravel, and photos don't do it justice; it photographs washed out for some reason. It's a step up from other gravel because it has visible schist striations. It's also a good deal, given that gravel costs about $6 per cubic yard. Big box stores sell it for $5 per pound. It was a win all around.
These stones have a very natural appearance. I started with the 11 pound bag and then ordered a second 11 pound bag for a 20 gallon tank with a bottom dimension of approximately 24x12 inches. Before putting the stones in the water, make sure they are thoroughly rinsed.
This gravel has a really nice look to it. However, I've noticed some wear and tear on the barbels of my cories, so if you have bottom feeders, I'd stay away from this stuff.
Even though it says it's been washed, it's still filthy!.
Due to the fact that it was busted, it arrived completely outside of its bag. To get the sand off of it, it had to be rinsed several times, and even after several changes of water, there appears to be a small amount of sand remaining.
I can't believe I'm writing a review for rocks, but this company deserves to be recognized. These rocks have a unique appearance.
