I had expected the rocks to be a little smaller (see photo), but they'll suffice. Polished to perfection. br>br>One word of caution: the mesh bag in which they are packaged is VERY THIN and easily tears. I found out the hard way when rocks began to scatter all over the place shortly after I snapped the photo. Using these with succulent plants will suffice. br>br>.
I put folded paper towels in the bottoms of some of them just to make sure I had enough. I'm pleased with how they turned out. To keep the stones in place, I used hot glue.
These rocks, which I bought to put on top of a houseplant, have exceeded my expectations. They come in a variety of colors and sizes, ranging from 1/4" to 1" in diameter. 1" in diameter, with an average of 1/2".
We decided to take the easy way out this year because we frequently have to drive 300 miles one way to see two of our three children and grandchildren, which means we are frequently gone for days at a time during the summer heat. When we return home, we discover "dried flower" arrangements in place of live flowers. Instead of doing what I've done in the past, I decided to get new porch rail containers and fill them with river rock for added weight this year. Then fill them with large fake flower bushes. From the road, they look fantastic, and they never need to be watered!.
The stones are stunning. I purchased them to use in a container with 2 foot incense sticks and something to catch the ashes vertically. I didn't want an incense tray that was long and horizontal. I knew I had the right idea, just not the right substance, even if the incense stick couldn't be perfectly vertical. I eventually settled on kosher salt, but I did take the stones and place them on top of one of my plants' dirt. I've got enough to cover every plant in the house with stones. The moisture is kept in by the stone. Very beneficial to my plants.
Yes, I used to use small rocks, but they would get dirty quickly, so I switched to river rock, which looks much better in the tank, is larger so I can use my fish rock vacuum cleaner more easily, and does not accumulate algae as quickly as the small pebble rocks. Only one bag was needed to fill 5 gallons.
but big. The rocks are beautiful, but I was surprised by their size. What was shown in photos appears to be much smaller than what I got. It's still of good quality, but it would have been ideal if they were a little smaller.
I'm very pleased with my purchase; they complemented the succulent project I was working on perfectly! I would strongly suggest it.
