Fluval 406 appears to be the only item I see. For the 407, I'm in need of new filters and media. Is it true that the 406 items will fit in the 407? Please accept my gratitude. ?

Fluval Canister Filters 304, 305, 404, and 405 are compatible. Six water polishing pads are included in this package.

Do you replace your polishing pads on a regular basis?

Every week, I switch them out. My red eared slider is an adult, and he can quickly decompose the tank. I use the polishing pads in conjunction with foam pads to keep the water clean, and they work great. I can get by for ten minutes every now and then. 12 days.

I placed it in the filter exactly where it said to. My fancy goldfish has been half-dead for years, and I've had it for years. I'm hoping to save it, but it does not appear to be in good condition. I haven't changed anything else in my tank recently; this is the only new item I've tried. I'm heartbroken because my poor fish is in pain. This is a product I will never use again.

It's worth noting that each box only holds three people

Although this is a good product, the marketing is deceptive. There are no 6 pads included. There are three in each box. It's not a particularly good deal at $10 for three.

The water polishing pads remove a lot of the fine debris that the coarse mechanical filter is unable to filter out. A bonus: Rinse and squeeze out the pads (do not wring them) before putting them back in the box after cleaning the filter. They will continue to work, and your water will be beautiful!.

These pads are effective at capturing finer particles that would otherwise pass through the other media filters. These pads can also help with the establishment of a bacteria colony, which aids in the nitrification process. For each filter change, make sure to use these.
