After just ten months of use, the color fades
3/5

The tubing is now clear! Soft, pliable tubing that is far easier to work with than the stiff, cheap clear tubing commonly found in pet stores. One of the selling points for me was the color, which I believe blends in better with the rest of my tank - However, after only ten months of use, the blue coloring has completely disappeared anywhere the tubing is in contact with water. It's no longer a mystery. My tank is 55 gallons of freshwater. This is concerning for a number of reasons. The color was one of the main factors in my decision, and 2. What they used to coat this tubing is now in my tank's water, which worries me! So be on the lookout - This isn't made of blue silicone at all - It's made of clear silicon that has been 'coated' with a blue coating. br>br>NEW 9/6/17 UPDATE: Skip this product; the tubing is now completely clear up to the water line, as well as hardened and no longer soft beneath the water line; everything outside the water line remains blue and pliable. This item was unmistakably dyed, and the dye will fade over time. I'm going to look into something else.

Connecting to attachments is a breeze with this
5/5

In four of my six tanks, I bought this to use with sponge filters. It's been great for the past three months that I've been using it. As another reviewer mentioned, the blue color hasn't rubbed off on me, and the tubing in the tanks isn't particularly noticeable. The traditional tubing was too difficult for me to attach to the attachments, so I got this instead. That problem has been solved for me thanks to this silicone tubing. It is extremely simple to put on and remove various attachments.

I had to throw it out because the odor was unbearable
3/5

I bought this tubing to start my first aquarium a few months ago. This stuff smelt so bad when I opened the box that it filled the entire room. I ended up taping it back into the box and storing it in my garage until I had a better idea of what to do with it. I decided to toss it because it was only $4 and change. That odor indicates that the material used is absolutely not 100% silicone, and generally poor quality all around. I've noticed that the price of this item varies from $4 as an add-on item to over $8, so I'm guessing the quality of the product varies as well. Especially since many other people in the reviews appear to be pleased with this product. The product I received also stated Made in China (which was conveniently hidden behind a sticker on the back), which contradicted the Amazon description, which stated that it was made in the United States. There are products available that are of higher quality and have more consistent quality control. Look for a plasticizer that is suitable for use in the food industry. If you're worried about such things, you can get free silicone tubing.

Tubing is a soft, flexible material
5/5

This tubing appeals to me greatly. It's very soft and flexible, and it stays put no matter where you put it. It has a lot of stretch and won't come off the air fittings. The blue tubing makes it easy to distinguish between air and power if you're using it in a space with multiple power cords. The power cords tend to blend in with black tubing. It is more expensive, but it is of excellent quality. I'm going to get a few more.

Air tubing made of silicone of high quality
5/5

Standard air tubing in a bright blue color that is very supple and flexible. My air pump, air distribution system, and airstones all had a nice tight/sealed fit thanks to the correct size. br>br>The tubing was simple to bend, cut, and work with. The photo compares a short length of lighter green silicone tubing that is over 15 years old but still supple and flexible to the new bright blue silicone tubing on my air gang. I've used silicone-based tubing before and it keeps its suppleness for years, making it a better choice than standard plastic tubing, which, while crystal clear, tends to become brittle and hard over time.

Plastic tubing is a lot more difficult to work with
5/5

This is something I really enjoy. It's a lot less complicated to use than the plastic air tubing. It's adaptable and simple to install on equipment. Pump and filter connectors come in a variety of sizes. The silicone tubing stretches to accommodate the shape. Vinyl tubing is difficult to work with. To get the tubing to fit over valves, I would frequently warm it up. I'm gradually phasing out the vinyl tubing in favor of silicon tubing.

Tubing is fantastic! On the draw side, I have about 2 feet of head height up to the doser itself, so I used this as the draw and supply line on my doser pump
5/5

The line does not collapse under negative pressure, which is excellent, and the supply tubing is both sturdy and flexible. In terms of dosing and airline supply, I would definitely recommend this.

I only use this type of airline tubing
5/5

For my aquatics business, I have nearly 60 aquariums, and while I'm sure there's something better out there, I'm not sure what it is. As a result, this is where I go. It appeals to me. It's ideal for connecting air pumps to sponge filters, making drip acclimation kits, and any other application that requires flexible airline tubing. br>br>One word of caution: It's a delicate situation here. It's made of silicon, so it'll cut easily. My cat (who is obsessed with this airline tubing for some reason) has been able to easily bite through it. It's not as "tough" as other airline tubing, just for your information. However, it is far more adaptable and straightforward to work with.
