Fine
Fine to medium bubbles, based on my experience with the product; the size of the air pump you're using and the number of lines that run from it will ultimately determine the size of the bubbles.
3 feet should be no problem; the only thing that matters is that the air is being pushed to them by the pump.

These are the ones I use for DWC hydroponics, and they're great. Because I have a 960 GPH air pump, even when split six ways, there are a lot of bubbles. br>These are excellent air stones, and I would recommend them. If you're on a tight budget, however, consider the following: br>For less than $5, check out Penn Plax's 10" air bar. One of those could easily replace two of these due to the large surface area on which it releases bubbles. br>br>As I previously stated, these Aquaneat products are excellent. 5 stars. But since then, I've discovered Penn Plax ($3) to be a better value. (At the time of writing, I was 49 years old. ) It's important to note that a 1. The effect of a 5W air pump may be less than that of my powerful pump. Both the Aquaneat and the Penn Plax are guilty of this. I'm currently pumping air through each of them with the equivalent of 6 watts, and the bubbles are amazing. I can't vouch for lower air pump wattage, but I'll put it to the test and update this review as soon as I can. br>br>If this was helpful, please click "Helpful"!.
I purchased a ten-pack of these air stones, but only five of them functioned properly. The other five only let air out at the point where the tube enters the stone. The adhesive that holds the tube to the stone leaks out, allowing air to escape. Basically, the adhesive failed or was applied insufficiently. br>I had previously ordered these same stones in a four-pack and they worked better, but none of them produced small enough bubbles and caused the water to be extremely turbulent. I won't be buying anything else.
I had purchased a couple of the 4" disc stones with the 3 suction cup feet that come in a 2pk on here and they are perfect for a 5 gallon dwc. One of them had a broken nipple when it arrived, so I had to glue it back together before I could use it. So this is the second time I've tried them, and I'm really pleased with the results. They were half the price of the 4" discs, throw more bubbles, and were packaged well with no broken discs. What's not to like about that? I'm about to place another order for four more. I wanted to give these a try before deciding which ones I'd purchase next. It's a no-brainer for me because I'm tired of waiting.
I can only speak to a hydroponic system with a 12 gallon DWC and a 950 gph pump (ample power). I've tried six of these, and they're all inferior to smaller round air stones. They simply blow large bubbles from the top at a slow rate. This is the last of a half-dozen different air stone designs that I've tried. It shouldn't be necessary to epoxy the top of it in order for it to function properly; that's ridiculous. The only benefit is that due to their weight, they stay in place. I discovered a much better-weighted, half-sphere-shaped one that performs significantly better. If you haven't tried any other air stones, these may appear to be adequate, but there are far superior alternatives.
These stones aren't going to help you at all. I purchased a four-pack, and none of them produce air through the stone; instead, they all leak at the glue. Purchase is a waste of money; do not purchase!.
When it comes to dwc, these are the ones I always go back to. I've tried a lot of different air stones and lines, and these are the ones I always come back to. They're big enough for big buckets and easy to clean so they can be reused.
These bubblers do a fantastic job. I have a relatively inexpensive air pump, which produces a large amount of oxygen bubbles for my pond. Discount store bubblers appear to clog up with algae and need to be replaced on a regular basis. Since I installed them six months ago, they have performed admirably. This is something I strongly suggest.
The air stone was good, but one of them didn't work. The inlet began to leak air. I only needed two of the four packs, so it was a win-win situation. These are quite large and weighty. It has a good quality to it.
