Questions & Answers

PraziPro is an appropriate treatment for callamanus nematodes, does anyone know?

John, thank you so much for these wonderful articles. It's something I've read about, but I didn't know about these two articles! You never know when and if something like that will happen again, so I'm keeping it for myself as a reference. I think the nematodes are the biggest obstacle when it comes to fighting this parasite. Thanks for your help! I am Randi

For 60 gallons of water, how many bottles will I need?

The amount of 3 teaspoons will treat 60 gallons of water During a single session, the treatment will last for five minutes In most cases, this is more than enough time. It is okay to repeat as necessary, but no more than three times in a row.

Is Prazi better than Seachem's ParaGuard? Can both be used together? Can this be done at the same time? A brand new batch of three fish is about to go into quarantine. ?

Przi solo is the best option to use. You should be aware that this treatment may suppress your fish's appetite, so do not be surprised if they stop eating while it is being administered to

The Aquarium version of this product may be put to use in small ponds. If so, should I do so according to the Aquarium dosing instructions, rather than buying the pond product?

If you want pink, make sure to use it! It has been used by me in quarantine for a number of years In the past, I would treat new goldfish for flukes, but this recently did not work, and the resulting infestation has spread
3/5

In addition to being pink, the solution should also have a strong smell of hikari. Any bottles that are exposed to freezing temperatures will have a clear appearance since the solution is inert. In both of the last 2 bottles I received from Amazon, the product has been clear, so this is the root of my problem. A bottle of the same product was pink when I bought it at my local drug store. Is there any reason for this warning to not be When you purchase from Amazon, make sure that the solution has the right color.

Clumps, either clear or pinkish, are not acceptable in either case
3/5

It is normal for there to be a color difference. Hikari said that. The response to our call today can be found here. In the time I spent with Himari, (hikari) said clear is just fine as it depends on the batch, some have the pinkish hue, others have the If there is clumping in the liquid, then that is usually a sign that it is frozen, which will result in it not being effective. That being said, as long as you bottle does not have weird clumps, it can be used. I have tested a total of three bottles and the following is my impression.

This medicine cabinet essential is a must for any fish owner! When I noticed that two of my Mollie fish were very skinny, I bought this Prazipro
4/5

My confusion was caused by the fact that I was not sure what was wrong. However, the fish continued to lose weight even though they continued to consume food and swim with their nearby colleagues. My assumption was that they had tapeworms, so I ordered In order to prepare the tank for treatment, I removed the carbon from the filter. The first dose was added after a 60 percent water change. In 7 days, I did a 60% water change and then dosed for another 7 days. After waiting 5 days, I repeated the whole process again for 7 more days to ensure that any eggs that might have hatched were killed. After a while, the two fish began to look My eyesight had even faded to the extent that I couldn't distinguish which two fish were skinny after about a month. My other fish did not seem to be affected at all by this treatment process. Among the fish are Mollies, dwarf gouramis, Giant Danios, Cory cats, and Penguin Tetras in a 75 gallon tank. This is all in a well-established tank with a Fluval FX6 canister filter that has been running for the past 2 years. It can be used in freshwater ponds, marine tanks, as well as in tanks with fresh water. In the bottle, it is labeled that it treats tapeworms, flatworms, and flukes. Prazipro is a great dewormer because of this. I did not experience any compromise in my biological filter during two consecutive treatment periods with this product. Ammonia and nitrite levels remained at zero points per million and nitrate remained at 20 points per million. It has been a long time since I bought any new fish, but when the time comes I'm going to dose my tank with this prazipro to prevent any color changes or stains. This product comes in a clear color and doesn't stain or damage the tank. Through the process of cleaning my aquarium, I did not encounter any problems. Thanks for taking the time to read this review! If this was helpful to you in any way, please let me know. It's a pleasure to work with you!.

Please be aware! There was an adverse reaction to my Betta
3/5

Watch for side effects and think about lowering your dosage! If you are considering dosing your Betta with this for the first time, you may want to read the detailed account of what I found below. To summarize my findings for those who are not interested in reading FEELING DISTRESS FROM THE RECOMMENDED DOSAGE WAS INCONVENIENT TO MY BETTE. After trial and error, he responded well to a lower dosage. Observe how your tank is doing when you're medicating! My experience with this product is limited since I just dosed it yesterday, so I can't say whether or not it will work, but I wanted to share a warning in case someone else receives the same benefit. This is what I have experienced My Betta seemed to have fluke symptoms, so I though he may have them. The plants and driftwood were rubbing a bit and the occasional incident of what I perceived as flashing took place. Research led me to this product, but since I wasn't 100% certain it was flukes, I was only considering potential products until I knew for sure what it was. When I read that sometimes, people use this preventatively, especially when buying a new fish, this made sense to me. As I mentioned, I had not treated my fish for internal parasites when I got him about 2 1/2 months ago and I added 2 Nerite snails about two weeks ago without quarantining them. (I thought the Nerites might carry/carry some unwanted parasites. It's a mess! It's better to be safe than sorry. The product is really unique, and before I bought it, I read about how to dose it for Bettas However, although it does not specifically state that it is safe for snails, the label indicates that it is "non-toxic. " Plants and animals commonly kept in aquariums are affected by this product. label on the bottle and the website also claim that it is "highly effective" and "extremely safe. " It has been said on several forums and youtube videos that this treatment is mild to their Betta, so I observed closely to ensure that my snails did not have an adverse reaction while assuming that my Betta would also be in good shape. The contrary occurred. As directed in the instructions, I did a water change (as per my instructions) and vaccumed out my substrate as the treatment would be active for 5 days, and I didn't want to remove it too early. Shaking the bottle vigorously was mentioned in the instructions, so I did that. the coloration (light pink), which ensured that it was still in good shape, as well as making sure there were no clumps in the solution that would inactivate or render it unsafe. As of the expiration date, it had more than two years and four months to expire. The dosage was a 1/4 teaspoon mixed thoroughly into a 5 gallon tank according to the instructions. There was no sign of distress on my snails, while they remained active. Treatment immediately elicited a positive reaction from my Betta! His breathing became rapid, and he was lying on his stomach. This is the first time I've noticed anything like this, and maybe it's a sign that he's trying to get rid of parasites. There was however an immediate reaction to this. Is it possible for it to work so Did the product really live up to your expectations? As I waited and watched, I took notes. I noticed after several minutes that Betta was still doing this. While his eyes were even a bit mad, I thought they were crazy! Although I was tempted to remove the treatment right away, I decided to hold off and observe for a little while. Despite my agitation of the water, he was still able to swim without any Did he just need some time to get After an hour of me watching him on and off, he was still at the bottom of the tank, but he was falling over to the side quite a bit. Although his breathing continued to be rapid, he was still trembling. It appears that he got air at times by swimming to the surface, but he would return to the bottom of the tank to get more air. I did not like the way he looked or acted. My daughter's reaction to this treatment was adverse, so I stopped it. Changing the water by 50% got him back to normal within minutes. Within minutes he was active again, and showing no signs of It was in the evening, so I watched him for another hour before I went to sleep. I woke to find that he was still fine the next morning. The tank still had 50% of the treatment in it since only half of the water was removed, and the Prazipro had been thoroughly mixed. Initially, I thought about terminating the treatment, but since I would be off the next day and potentially be home to see him, I chose to continue and remove if he once again experienced extreme distress. I added 1/4 of the recommended treatment to the tank this time and it worked well. Combining it with the half treatment (left in the tank after I did the 50% water change the night before), I ended up doing 3/4 or 75% of the recommended dose over about 12 hours. There were some similarities in behavior from the previous night to the one I observed last I found Betta lingering at the bottom of the aquarium and he was breathing a bit more than usual, but it only lasted a short time. Within a few days, he was back to his old self and was fine! It is only my experience, but if you have a friend who is treating their Betta I would recommend the lowest dose AND close attention to the fish. This article might assist another fish friend by taking the time to document my experience. I wish you all the best!.

If your Betta produces white stringy poo, this must-have item is essential for you
5/5

This is the medicine to use if your betta gets a white stringy worm hanging out of its anus when flaring and retreating from it in the following hours. It didn't work with any of the other medications I tried, including levamisole, aquarium salt, and garlic. However, it did with prazipro within a few hours. When I added prazipro to my bettas, they flared for a few hours after adding worms, and the worms just popped out and never retreated back into the fish's nose. I noticed that some of my bettas ate the worms after pooping them out, so you might want to use something like a turkey baster to get the worms Due to the fact that the fish seem not to be stressed after the first treatment, I will administer a second treatment. In my effort to find the cures for these pests, I have spent countless hours on the internet but there is A LOT of false information out there. The bottle will tell you how much to take. The stuff even in liquid form doesn't mix that well so I can only imagine how hard it is to mix paraziquantel powder. Shake it vigorously as instructed because these things never mix well even in liquid form. I'm so glad I came across this medication because it has been so helpful to me.
