Questions & Answers

Can PraziPro be used effectively to treat nematodes that belong to the callamanus genus?

Thanks a lot, John, for your outstanding articles. This is new to me, but I have read the articles you linked to! Since you never know when or if something like this might happen again, I am keeping it for reference for myself. It seems that those nematodes are the biggest obstacle when it comes to dealing with this parasite. Thanks again! I am Randi

What will the number of bottles I need for 60 gallons be?

Approximately one-half ounce (three teaspoons) is enough to treat 60 gallons of water. In a single treatment, there will be a 5-day recovery period I usually do not need more than 7 days. This can be repeated as necessary, but no more than three times within a week.

What is the difference between Prazi and Seachem's ParaGuard? Can one be used in conjunction with The three new fish I just purchased will go into quarantine soon. ?

Prazi solo, on the other hand, is recommended. During treatment you should be aware that your fish's appetite may be suppressed, so, do not be shocked if they stop eating.

Would it be ok to use the Aquarium version of this rather than buying the pond version for a small pond if I followed the Aquarium dosing instructions?

Yes, just dosing based on volume is sufficient.

Pink is the way to go! This is what I have used for more than a decade in quarantine as a way to prevent My goldfish had been treated for flukes, but recently this failed, and now all of them are infested with the disease
3/5

If you have just contacted hikari, the solution is likely to be In the event the bottles are exposed to freezing temperatures, the solution becomes inert and appears My outbreak is because my last two bottles of amazon have been clear, which is why it is happening to me. It was pink as I had hoped when I purchased the bottle in my local drugstore. This warning should be on the label, why isn't it? Before using a solution you bought from amazon, make sure that the color matches the description.

is fine, as long as it's either clear or pinkish
3/5

Clumps are generally not accepted. When I asked Hikari about the color issue, he said it was The response to our call today can be found here. In her statement, Hikari (also known as Hikari) explained that clear is fine as it depends on the batch. Some bottles have a pinkish hue, and others have a yellow or clear one. The issue with freezing would be if there were any tiny clumps in the liquid, which is another sign that it has been frozen, which will render it ineffective. "" So in general, as long as there are no weird clumps in your bottle, freezing is okay. Based on my experience with three bottles, I propose the following.

Make sure your fish has this in their medicine cabinet! As soon as I saw two of my Mollie fish were extremely skinny, this Prazipro was the only thing that could help
4/5

My mind was a little foggy as to what was wrong. However, the fish kept losing weight even when they were still eating and swimming with the other fish. My first reaction was to order some Prazipro because I suspected they had tapeworms. As part of my tank treatment, I removed the carbon from my filter. To begin, I changed the water by 60% and added the initial dosage. In this case, I dosed for 7 days and then changed 60% of the water. Once the eggs had been dead for 5 days, I repeated the whole process for another 7 days to kill any eggs that could have As the fish got better, they started to look more natural. The skinny fish were so hard to tell after about a month that I couldn't even tell the skinny ones apart. I did not seem to notice any adverse effects in my other fish during this treatment process. I have a 75 gallon tank with Mollies, dwarf gouramis, giant gouramis, cory cats, and penguin tetras. This is all in a well-established tank with a Fluval FX6 Canister filter that has been running for two years. A Prazipro can be used in freshwater, saltwater, and freshwater ponds and aquariums. There is a statement on the bottle that it treats Flukes, Tapeworms, Flatworms and Turbellarians. Prazipro can be used to treat worms in this way. After using this product for two consecutive treatment periods, I did not notice any negative effects on my biological filter. In addition to the 0ppm ammonia and nitrate levels, I also have a 20ppm nitrate level. Since I haven't bought any fish in a long time, I will be dosing the tank with this prazipro product as a preventative measure. This product comes in a clear pink color and does not stain the water or cause any color changes. While I was cleaning my aquarium, my aquarium remained crystal clear. You are warning! There was an adverse reaction in Betta
3/5

Monitor your dosage and lower it if necessary! To summarize my findings for those who don't want to read it all, I have provided a detailed account of what happened below. If considering feeding your Betta with this for the first time, you may want to consider reading it. MY BETTA WAS STRESSED OUT BY THE RECOMMENDED DOSE. AFTER A TRIAL AND ERROR, HE REACTED WELL TO A LOWER DOSAGE. DON'T FORGET TO OBSERVE YOUR TANK WHEN YOU ARE Having just been dosed with this product yesterday, I am not able to vouch for its effectiveness, but I would like to share a warning that may be helpful to others. This is what I've experienced As I observed fluke symptoms on Betta, I began to believe that she had them. There were a couple of instances of rubbing on plants and driftwood, as well as flashing which I interpreted as being lightning. After performing research, I came across this product. As I was not certain it was flukes, I was researching potential remedies until I was diagnosed properly. When I read that some people do this to prevent fish from getting sick, I realized that many people do it when they get When I got him 2 1/2 months ago, I did not treat my fish for parasites and I added 2 Nerite snails about 2 weeks ago without quarantining them. (I thought the Nerites might carry parasites. It's an error! that as my tank was exposed to many unknown variables, it may actually be beneficial to treat it with Prazipro. It's never a bad idea to be prepared. Research led me to purchase this product, and I read a lot of info about how to dose it for both Bettas There is no specific mention of when it is safe for snails on the label, but it does state that it is "non-toxic" The chemical is toxic to fish and plants that are commonly kept in aquariums. On the bottle and website, it is also stated that it is "highly effective" and "extremely safe. ". There are a lot of forum posts and videos on YouTube that indicate this treatment is mild to their Betta, so when treating I observed closely so that my snails didn't have an adverse reaction while assuming my Betta would be fine, which was the opposite. My aquarium was treated with an enzyme treatment (per the instructions) and my substrate was vacuumed out as the treatment would be active for five days and I didn't want to remove it too soon In the instructions, it stated that I should shake vigorously the bottle. My aim was to check the coloration (light pink) to ensure that it was still usable and make sure there were no clumps that rendered it inactive and unusable in freezing conditions. As of the expiration date, there were 2 years and 4 months left in the period. The dosage was as instructed for my 5 gallon tank. I mixed up 1/4 teaspoon thoroughly into it. There were no warning signs of distress in my snails, and they remained active. Immediately after the treatment, Betta showed signs of recovery! In the process of breathing rapidly, he went to the bottom and lay down. He may have had parasites or not, but I thought that was a sign it was working to get rid of them. In this case, however, the reaction was immediate. Is it possible for it to move so Can you honestly say that the product was My attention was focused on waiting and observing. I observed that my Betta was continuing to act this way for several minutes. His eyes even looked like madness! I know it's crazy, but he looked like he was The treatment could have been immediately removed, but I decided to hold off a bit and observe the situation. When I agitated the water near him, he was able to swim without issue. It may have just taken him some time to adjust? My observation of him on and off for an hour revealed that he was still at the bottom of the tank, but he was starting to float to one There were still too many rapid breaths in his breathing. A few times I noticed him swimming to the surface to take in air, but he returned to the same position near the bottom of the tank soon after. I did not like the way he looked or acted. It appeared as if this treatment was having an adverse effect on me. Then I changed 50% of the water and he was fine! The fish was active again within minutes and showed minimal signs of Since the incident occurred in the evening, I watched him for another hour and then went to sleep. After I woke up the next morning, he was still fine. The tank still had 50% of the Prazipro solution in it, since I removed just half of the water and he thoroughly mixed it with the water. In spite of my caution, I decided to continue the treatment and remove if he showed further distress. I was off the following day and could be at his house to observe him. It is this time that I added 1/4 of the recommended treatment amount Together with the 1/2 treatment from the night before (left in the tank after the water change of 50%) I injected somewhere between 3/4 and 75% of the recommended dose over about 12 hours. As I watched the same behavior from the previous night, I observed a tiny bit of the same pattern. Occasionally my Betta would linger at the bottom of the aquarium with increased respiration, but it would only last It took him just a short time to return to normal, and he has been fine ever Having only been through this situation myself, I would NOT recommend a higher dosage, but recommend lots of close observation if a friend was treating their Betta. By taking the time to write about my experience, I hope that someone else will benefit! Hope you have a great day!.

If your betta poop is white and stringy, then you need this kit
5/5

You should take this medication if your betta has white stringy worms that come out of their anus when they flare and retreat back in afterward. Over the years, I used everything from levamisole, aquarium salt, and garlic without success, but the Prazipro worked within a short period of time. As soon as my bettas flared for a few hours after adding Prazipro, those nasty intestinal worms popped out and never made their way back into their anu. I noticed that some of my bettas ate the worms after they pooped them out, so you might want to use a turkey baster to get the worms Due to the fact that it does not appear the fish are stressed from prazipro, I will give them a 2nd treatment. On the internet, I have spent countless hours searching for cures for these nasty parasites, but there is a great deal of misleading information available. As directed on the bottle, take the medication as directed. The stuff barely mixes well in liquid form, so I can only imagine how difficult it is to mix paraziquantel powder. Make sure to shake it vigorously as directed it's sticky even in liquid form. Thanks to this medication, I am able to lead a much healthier lifestyle.
