There is a tank inside that contains the sand. The top of mine is about 1/4 inch above the water level in the main tank and the water level in the reservoir You can slide the lid onto one side so I don't have to take it on and off each time Here's the baby fish to be fed &amp I'm out the door That way, they won't be able to leave. The third set of baby fish I have is on its way. There are suction cups on the top and bottom that hold well, but you can slide them up and down You can take a little break if you need to & No matter where it goes, it stays put.
In my opinion, you may be able to if she's comfortable laying eggs in the pool. I am trying to get my zebra to lay her eggs in one of these now that she is getting ready to do it. A couple with my pair of fish can swim around and hang out pretty comfortably in the large size.
It is 5, so you can do it. Two times two. Seven times two. If you have numerous babies by 9", you must keep an eye on them, as soon as some of them grow up and become too crowded in this breeding box.
It can be taken out of the box yes

Though I expected to get a small, it turned out to be much smaller than expected. This will fit in the palm of your hand. Even though it was really small, I still used it, and it seemed to After I put the fry into the tiny box, I found that the bottom of the box was surrounded by holes, and the fry just floated Despite the holes being quite large, even eggs are falling through them. When you put the lid up to the water line it will not fit snugly. As the lid floats up and off, bigger fish will get inside and the fry will get outside. The suction cups hold pretty well, and the tank stays attached very well. Make sure there are no fish inside the tiny box if you pull it out of the water. Since all the water drains out of the bottom holes, you will have to keep the box submerged somewhat to keep water inside. I measured the box as small, but it was way smaller than that. There must have been an error in the measurement. I would recommend it for small fish, such as neons or similar species. In fact, my zebra fish (danios) could not turn around in the box since it was too small. In the first photo you can see the top of my 20 gallon tank, with the little box in the middle. In the other photo, there is a close-up. I am not happy at all with the little box. Keeping it costs less than selling It took me a long time to get a refund for my first order, so I had to No damage was done to the package, and the item appeared undamaged.
The design of this breeder box really appeals to me. Today, I discovered my first fry in the box I got in anticipation of my platys giving birth. This was a very easy product to assemble, and I was able to put the new fry into the breeder box safe and sound. In the shadow of the box, the fry slowly swam around the slits for about an hour or so before it slipped between them! My first impression was I was seeing things, but when I realized the poor fry was outside, I realized he was in plain sight of the other platies. In my scramble, I scooped the fry into a cup, put it back into the box, and it found its way out again, but I think it remembered the way it got out. The slits are actually narrow enough so that tiny fry can fit through. After much searching, I finally took a piece of old pantyhose and cut it up into strips to wrap around the box, in order to allow water to flow freely into the container while keeping fish secure inside. There is a chance that very small fry will slip through the slits, so you might want to wrap the box with some thin mesh material so that fry cannot As a whole, I really like the design!.
Even though it wasn't part of the original plan, it arrived in good condition just in time for my platy to give birth. It was originally planned to put the flatie in there for a few days to let her fin heal after another fish bit her right after I put her in there, but on the very next day, she gave birth to a baby fish. The medium breeder box is well suited for my 40 gallon tank's two small fish, and it does well outdoors. I just bought a large because I have more than one pregnant fish and it worked out really well for me. Breader boxes are awesome, I've never had one before. To see all the baby fry as safe and sound as possible in my tank is a great feeling. There is only one complaint I have, and that is that the lid does not stay on the box very securely. Additionally, I heard that using a turkey baster is a good way to clean the inside of the box of food and poops. I received mine in the mail. There is a lot to look forward to. Though I think I'm on the verge of losing my tank to a platypus invasion.
The breeder box is of a better quality than most. This is a much stronger box than some others I have Basically the width of a 10 gallon tank for the medium. There is a good size, although super tiny fish may slip out the sides, so it might be good to reinforce the mesh with a little wire.
Suction is very good. This breeding box is already impressive to me. I normally wait to write reviews, but I am already very impressed with it. The size medium fits me well. I had a problem with my guppies being nibbled on the backside by other fish, so I removed them from the tank and put them in mugs. But this was not the best way to handle the problem. It took me about a minute to put this together and another minute to get it in the tank. Hopefully I will update this post after the babies are born but so far everything seems to be going well.
For a test run, I bought one and I have been highly satisfied with it. It has floating handle chambers as backup, and it has a good set of suction cups. If babies fall through the grate, they will be protected, and if you choose a fish in the right size and with the right divider, there will be room for two fish at the same time. I think this is the best floating breeder I have ever used. The only thing I'd like it to have is a tight lid, in case the fish jump across the chambers or if the suction cups fail, which would cause them to As far as we know, both have held up, so there are no concerns I have not encountered any issues with the lid locking.
Despite the Acrylic material, it will not affect your tank. It has a divider to separate it into two compartments, allowing you to sit two adults inside. In the box there is a grate located about an inch above the bottom. fry to stay at the bottom of the breeding chamber and away from any adult fish until you are ready to remove the adult from the breeding chamber. All the pieces of the aquarium (divider and grate) can be removed after you remove the adult fish, so your fry will have a reasonable amount of space It seems impossible that fry would escape from the package because the openings that let water into the box are so Can fit into tanks up to 10 gallons in size. This would be the perfect breeding box for a breeder, isolation box, aquarium acclimatization box, or hatchery incubation box. The thumbs up are in order.
A total of 12 babies are swimming in our tank at this time. Mama was caught the day before she gave birth and taken to the hospital the following day.
