br>br>These were my first aquascaping tools. They're all fantastic; the stainless steel is excellent, and the tongs are extremely useful; however, I believe the spatula tool should be a little longer. I'm doing a no-filter enclosed ecosystem in a 10 gallon, which means I don't want my hands in there very often, so having to dip them in no matter what whenever I want to use the spatula is a pain.
The items are of excellent quality. The tweezers tweeze, while the scissors are sharp and "tight. " It has a solid and heavy feel to it. I didn't dry them at all on purpose to see if they'd rust. In the last two weeks, there hasn't been a single speck of rust on them. So far, I've been quite impressed.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and apparent durability; I say "apparent" because I've only had them for a week and have only used them a few times, but they appear to be made of a nice heavy-duty stainless steel and should last a long time. Makes taking care of aquarium plants a breeze. I also like how they come in a nice bag for easy and organized storage. Thank you very much, and I would strongly suggest it!.
Mine hasn't rusted as much as the others have. This kit does a good job and is less expensive than others I've seen. br>br>Update for 2021: br>br> I used these for about two years and had no rust; however, I no longer have the tank and felt it was necessary to update my review.
I'm not sure why I didn't get these sooner! The scissors were simple to maneuver and use, the spatula made reorganizing the rocks a breeze, and the tweezers let me propagate without disturbing the substrate! My only complaint is that the curved tweezers must be manually opened, which defeats the purpose for me, but other than that, I adore this kit!.
I'm at a loss for words. This is a nice little tool kit for those who have a planted aquarium. Sturdy. It's best for smaller/shorter tanks, in my opinion, as it's about a foot long.
They're fantastic tools. However, I'll have to wait and see how they hold up after a few uses. However, it is extremely useful for navigating a tank that has already been established. It's certainly preferable to scuffing up other household items. It's also a good length.
For my planted aquarium, I used every tool available. I have some driftwood that would have made the job much more difficult if I hadn't brought the long tweezers with me. While I was at school, my wife called to tell me that one of the fish had died and she couldn't reach it with the net. I told her to grab it with the tweezers, and she was able to do so without uprooting any of my plants.
