According to the description, it does what it says. It would be helpful if you could pass that along. If you do not give a command when your pet hears this, or even if you do, he will have no idea what to do. It is a whistle, it gets attention, not in tune with your thoughts. I recommend that you seek out the help of a trainer if you need it, and your dog will respond to positive talk and treats . If you're one of the stupid morons who use strong yelling or hitting to discipline their dog, maybe you need some assistance.
We gave our dog a plastic whistle, but she went deaf, even though she seems to still be able to hear high frequencies. That worked far better than the police whistle we previously used and was much better for the neighbors. The sound does remain pretty loud and it is within human hearing range, but it worked so I am not taking away a star. While the whistle is supposed to prevent my neighbors from barking, in fact it did quite the opposite. A couple blows on it and every dog nearby started to bark.

This is a product that my hunting dog trainer recommends. Unlike a traditional dog whistle, this one won't scare off the birds. It's a great value, as well as easy to use. When you're out on a hunting expedition, it sounds natural.
